As of right now, there are no pre orders. I'll post if that changes, but I don't think it will.

Also, the tracks and waypoints will not be available immediately, but we will have them ready to go before the summer riding season.

Casey,

Thanks for sharing all of this information.  To catch up from previous posts, I was thinking about the Chamberlin Basin camp option, as long as I can carry enough food for a layover day on that section.  As for the question about the route from Alturas Lake to Atlanta, trail I was referring to skirts the wilderness boundary.  Heading South East from Alturas Lake along Alturas Creek there is a seasonal motorcycle trail #7034 that connects with trail #7226 and #7227 along the Ross Forks. It looks to be about 15-20 miles.  From there it appears that in connects near Ross Peak with Decker Creek #7228 and Willow Creek #7018 which, from what I have been able to deduce from the map you released, are part of the route from Atlanta.  The link to the trail map I am referring to can be found here http://www.trails.Idaho.gov/trails/ .  I have done enough route construction on other rides to know that a trail on the map is not necessarily there (or ridable).  I can't seem to find any beta on line so I thought I would ask you. Any information you have on this potential connector would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've got no beta on those trails. I've seen a few pictures online from ICT thru attempts, but can't seem to find them. The ICT is impeccably sign throughout this area so you won't get lost. I do know of a guy who rode into the Main Salmon's headwaters, and over into Bid Smokey Creek, but thats a bit to your east. Just from being in the area, and hearing other's reports, my gut feeling is that those trails will be 70% rideable or more. Although, as my friends can attest to, I have been wrong before on these matters.

You should give it a go! It was my intention with these maps to give riders a ton of options, and hope they would create even more to customize their own trips.

It would be a great loop to ride Ketchum > White Clouds > Stanley > Alturas Lake > Willow Creek > Ketchum. Actually if those trails go, it may be the best loop on the map.

If the first printing sells out will there be a second printing later on in the spring or should we mark our calendars and be ready with the credit card on the 25th?
Thanks.

If they sell out within a few weeks, we will do a reprint asap.

If you want them sooner, have the card ready to go on the 25th.

I ordered mine last night.  They must have got them on the web site early.  I can hardly wait to see them and am really excited for this year's big tour on the Idaho Hot Springs Route.

I called and ordered mine this morning.    I'm wondering how long before they sell out.   That would be a great way to begin this new route's "life".    Planning to do the route in Sept when its a little cooler.  So lots of time for planning and also read trips reports of those that do the route earlier this year.

Hey everyone. Our friends in Ketchum need help, now:

While we are all celebrating the launch of this new route, there are good people in a meeting in Ketchum fighting so that we all can all ride it.  Please support these local efforts by sending an email to the Blaine County Commissioners saying that you would like to preserve the historic bicycle access to the Boulder White-Cloud Mountains if it were to recieve National Monument designation: jlovell (at) co.blaine.id.us. It really does help.

Here is some more information from the Wood River Bike Coalition http://woodriverbike.org/public-meeting-tuesday-re-boulder-white-clouds/

It would be great if the commissioners got back from the meeting with a flood of emails!

Brian, we've still got a little ways to go before they sell out. But I totally agree, it would be a great way to get things going.

ps. It also would be a great message to the ACA-powers-that-be, that we want more mountain biking routes!
