I'm looking to put together a kid friendly route for my family and friends this summer in the Rocky Mountains. Here are some things that I think make a kid friendly backpacking trip.
- Cool things to see, you know, like Old Faithful
- Water, swimmable water even better
- Campsites with Bathrooms at least every other night
- Doable distances,
- Limited interaction with automobiles
- Limited climbing
- Limited single track
My current strategy is to find a big park --two big parks near each other would be even better --and string together a couple of campsites via fire roads. This is going down the last week of July and the first week of August.
Any recommendations, advice, etc is appreciated.
