Looking for a low key three day weekend (heading out from Denver) with a focus on scenery more than miles. Done a number of trips but every single one has been pretty brutal regarding elevation changes. The plan is to celebrate a friend's bday with some bikepacking, so I'd like to make her not hate me the whole time. Any recommendations?

No responses because we're all scratching our heads and no one can think of a moderate CO bikepacking route.  Maybe a mostly dirt road ride like the CT bypass around the south side of Lost Creek Wilderness?  The best recommendation i have for you to make her not hate you is for you to carry almost all the gear Smiley

Yeah it is a tall order for sure. Hard to find a normal ride around here without a ton of climbing much less an overnighter. I'll throw in a pic from a trip from last year to sweeten the deal.

Yep. Pretty bumpy state. One option might be to set up a "base camp," and do day rides? With less gear to carry, the hills won't hurt as much...

Rollins Pass to Winter Park is a good idea, starting near the east portal trailhead. But you will encounter lots of jeep traffic. You could construct some kind of loop at Buffalo Creek, using the CT and other trails. But the scenery is mostly woods, not alpine views. You might be able to do some kind of loop on the Montezuma loops outside of Keystone- they are all very scenic, jeep roads with lots of climbing. But you don't need to do mega miles to get to scenic camping areas.  Don't forget the bug repellant and your raingear!!
