The NCW is a 250-mile self supported bikepacking race. Boasting over 24,300' feet of vertical gain, this route travels along alpine ridges, lakes, peaks, wheat fields, and through six small towns. The race route has been ridden with each section carefully thought out, and offers some of the best backcountry gravel riding North Central Washington has to offer. A detailed map of the route can be found at the bottom of the page.
The route begins in Wenatchee, starting at Pybus public market. It travels to Waterville, Lake Chelan, Slide ridge, Ardenvoir, Entiat ridge, Sugarloaf, Plain, Cashmere and Mission Ridge ski resort before finishing on a downhill descent to Pybus market.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, this year's grand depart will be postponed until next year June 26th 2021. Instead, this year's race will be virtual for those wishing to complete it, held from July 3rd to October 1st. If you choose to race this year, please wear a mask at all local public markets.
The entry fee for this race is simple: take a picture of yourself at lease once on route and submit it to the email listed below. I'd like to see you out getting stoke! There are no prizes for finishing (except a well deserved beer). This year's results will be held on the honor system. Those wishing to submit time results email:
