Found this site the other day, thought it might help some here.  Are there other sites like this?

Lassen and Plumas National Forests have 7.5 minute quadrangles on their respective websites, available for downloading.  These maps are 1"= 1 mile scale pdf documents 8.5 x 11 in size, so you can print them whole on your home printer.  They look better if printed on photo paper.

So far, I have found only these two forests offering the maps.  If anyone else finds other NF websites offering similar maps please post back.  Nearly every NF has similar maps in their computer files for in-house use, so I do not know why they are not available on the public website.

Looks like they added the Terraserver Topos and B/W aerials (the same maps TopoFusion uses) to a google maps interface.  Useful, for sure, but hard to get much GPS data in there.

http://gpsvisualizer.com is another site that gives a number of map options and also allows you to display a GPS file on top of it.

Of course I prefer being able to load multiple tracks, edit, merge, etc.  Smiley

Yep, it varies widely between forest districts.  Sometimes you can find some great maps, but in general you can't count on it.
