Havent been on this site in awhile good to see guys are getting out to the area .i am going into the sods this weekend for some backpacking ,last i was out on the bikepacking the blackwater rail grade was still trashed ,seems only the local blackwater boaters are doing any of the trail clearing .the boating is still pretty trashed almost 2 years after sandy .last fall myself and some friends did an over night and we climbed up a road that parallels 219 out of Hambleton called mackeyville road then rode 219 for about 1.5 miles to the canyon rim road and took that into douglas then thomas .that was better than fighting the blowdowns on the rail grade .the other place i found alot of blowdowns was on the middle point trail on the west side of otter creek on our way to the mcgowan mtn road .hope to get back out for some bikepacking soon .
