Routes leaving from Scottsdale AZ

I'll be vacationing to AZ is a few weeks and would like to know if anybody can steer or point me in a direction for some off road bikepacking adventure. I'll be staying in Scottsdale and would like to rally & haul out from there. Looking for something simple to take in the experience of riding & camping in the desert. Been going over some maps (north toward Bartlet Reservoir or Saguaro Lake Reservoir, east toward the White Tank Mtn areas) and thought I'd maybe try to drum up some feedback & pick the brain of of those who dwell or know the area. Thanks in advance....

Any direction you go will be fun. If you wanted to stay local the Mcdowell park has no shortage of fine ST and places to camp. If you desire more back country... the sky is the limit. Check out the Black canyon trail, Look into the Arizona Spring Fling, Some of the Arizona endurance series events, the Arizona trail, Crown king, Sedona, plenty of stuff on the west side of town, south mountain, Tucson. Just get here and throw a stick, you just can't go wrong.
