I need to get a "report" button going so people can alert me.  Also, need to upgrade a few regulars to mod status so the spam doesn't sit around and mold when I'm busy or on the bike.

Hitting the "report to moderator" works also. It goes straight to the moderators' emails.

Nice to see we now have a way to report spam thanks Chad for pointing that out. Now I am wondering how many of us do you need bombarding you with spam reports? Or should I assume if something has already been viewed a bunch it's been reported.

Reported some spam this morning and then added a post to note that it had been reported.

Thinking that way we don't all keep re-reporting the same spam.

Spam overload this morning.

I counted at least 30.

Man spam overload is right.

Well that's done.

That was the first time I've wished there was a way to delete every post and remove a user all in one stroke.

Even the translation post was gibberish to me.

Thanks Greenwater for the translation post it was interesting to see but that many post by anyone even someone selling bikes is likely going to be seen as spam.

Greenwater I deleted the translation like you asked.

Just a thought for the Scott (or whoever is the administrator)... Is there an easy way to prevent people from posting links until their post count has hit something like 10 (over maybe a couple days).  MTBR does this, and I am guessing that it reduces how much spam ends up there in the first place (which saves time for mods).  Just a thought, as it seems to have gone through the roof as of late (or at least this morning).

That is a good idea as it does seem to be on the increase lately.  I suppose it isn't too much of a burden on new users to have to post a few times first.

Yep I been whacking them as soon as I see them, this morning it seemed like they were coming in right at the time I was on. Each time I would think this is the last one, once I hit "show unread" there was another one there.

On the plus side there seems to be a lot of legit traffic going on, always somebody new posting up a trip or looking for info.

Well, thanks to both of you for your work.  I think this a.m. was particularly bad, kudos to you for canning the spam Smiley

Thanks Bill, especially the ones inside of a legit thread as those are harder to spot.
