Not sure if you Bikepackers out there think this is a good idea , but for good cause and i think it be amazing bike packing adventure.
My plan
In the early 2000, the Communist government in Hanoi decided to construct a highway, the HCM Highway, along the Truong Son Range to connect North Vietnam with South Vietnam. Prompted by tales of the formidable HCM Trail, many journalists outside Vietnam quickly adopt the false notion that the new highway is built on the Ho Chi Minh Trail, many tourist do the motorbike tour believing they completed the famous Ho Chi Minh Trail.
In fact, they where never on it the old trail and the new highway are not even in same location or same country but miles apart in Lao and Cambodia only small is in Vietnam.
My plan is simple I am going bike pack the real Ho Chi Minh Trail i am going follow the original trial before the gone forever. I am starting my adventure on the 15th of August 41 years to the day the war ended. 1000 km through jungles and mountain ranges of Vietnam, Lao Cambodia this summer. I am already living in Vietnam training and fund raising researching the forgotten trails. My Goal is to Raise $10,000 which will go towards to training and equip 2 more land mine crews support for 2 years.
I am doing the old trail it never been done before on mountain bike and i think it be great adventure. for more info
