I have the month of March off and I'm eyeing the AZT. I'm guessing it would take me most of the month to bike it north bound.

Question: Would the snow be melted in the higher elevations of northern AZ by mid to late March?

Not likely. Though it's a great time of year for the Southern half.

Just finished a tiny section of the AZT east of Patagonia. It was lovely! But the day before and the day after we got snowed on. What a brutally hard trail. I'm sure you've read trip reports, but plan for short mileage every day and a sore back from all the hikeabike.

Yes, I've heard it's a fair bit of work Smiley

Sounds good, thanks for the info.
