Hi, I'm looking for one or more easy going companions who want to ride the Great Divide Route this summer. My plan/desire is to ride north, starting in New Mexico around June 10th to 15th. I'm a 38 year old male who lives in Portland, OR. I have strong backpacking/back country skills and some touring experience. I'm flexible in terms of daily mileage. I definitely want to camp the vast majority of the time (especially dispersed camping), swim in rivers and lakes, stop for beers, and enjoy nature. I need to be done in two months or a little less. Thanks for reading this.

I am planning to do the CDT route this summer. I will be in az for a wedding in early June and was considering starting around june 7-8th. I am 34 yo male avid cyclist with some bike touring background, and backpacking experience from Colorado. Any chance you would be able to start earlier? There is a strong chance that i will ride to CO and stop and do the rest later. I would expect to ride between 50-100mi/ day. I am not out there to set any speed records, but really just want to enjoy touring and the openness or the rural west. The southern part of the route seems to be the most desolate and i figure a good place to at least start out with someone. let me know what you think.
Joe

Joe, Thanks for writing. I forgot I posted on this forum. I'm a teacher and can't start before about the 14th or 15th of June. I'm going to kindly decline your offer to ride together for now because I have (or at least thought I had) two fellows lined up to ride with that I met on the ACA forum. I say "thought I have" here because I haven't heard from either one in a few days since I sent a recent email checking in with them to see if they're still interested. Also....I will be in good shape for the start of the ride, but your mileage totals, specifically up to a 100 miles a day on dirt/gravel is more than I'm thinking I want to tackle. I'm not sure what gravel will be like so it's hard to estimate, but I'm thinking 45 upwards to 65 will hit the spot for me. Brian

Hi Joe, It turns out my two riding companions both dropped out. Do you have flexibility with your dates? Can you leave a week later? Brian
