I know it's short notice but would anybody be interested in doing the "The Other Side of Nowhere" EPIC ride as written in the park's mountain biking guide (Sometime before January 14th...I'm a student)?
Also, mattinaustin did a very similar route in another thread and I would be down for something along those lines.
I'm just looking for a 3 or 4-day ride to really try out bikepacking for the first time.
I would love to split gas or drive, have somebody to enjoy the views with, as well as having a buddy for safety purposes.
I live in San Marcos and would probably leave from the Austin area. My target is the 4th or 5th of January, around the time the potential of rain in the park is gone.

Let me know if you're interested.
Since it is so quickly approaching, go ahead and call or text me at 9038218783 to tell me if its a possibility.

Thanks
Andrew

I'll be out there for the Chihuahuan Desert Bike Fest February 14 - 16.  I plan to stay in BBRSP for a few days afterwards and do some bikepacking.  Your welcome to join us.

Blammo, how much longer do you plan on staying afterward?

I'm not really familiar with what exactly the Chihuahan Desert Bike Fest is, but it sounds like a lot of fun.

Through the 20th, but won't be bikepacking ...just epic riding.  I'm going to have to go out there in April for the BikePacking.

Nice to see some other TX folks on here.
I'm going to do the AZT300 next month, anyone interested in that?
I did the CD fest a few weeks ago. It's some great riding!

I would LOVE to do the AZT300.
Only issue is, I don't ride enough to be confident that I'd finish in a reasonable amount of time to get back to school Monday night at 6:30.

Are you definitely going, Holt?

Did you do the IMBA epic while you were there?  I cracked my frame during that ride, although I didn't realize it completely until the next week.  I don't have a bike suitable to AZT300 at this point.

I'm in for sure.
I did not do the Epic. I was with a bunch of team mates and we had more of a relaxed trip. Lots of trail and lots of beer. I put a vid on TMBRA, check it out. I have gone out there every year for 15+ years. I ha e had my share of racing hard miles out there.

@Holt,
I had been making excuses because of school but ever since this thread you've put the idea of doing the AZT in my head.

Would you be interested in riding together/splitting gas?
Where are you leaving from?

I am thinking I will fly? I have been looking at airfares, its cheeper than gas. The kicker is the bike charge. I will work on this, this week, if I go the drive route, then yes! a flight will also save a few days time away from work.
