Butte To Helena Weekend Trip 03/07/2014

Hey! this is a long shot on short notice but I thought I would ask: There is an Art Event near Helena on Saturday evening March 8th. I think it would be super cool to Fat Bike up early on Saturday, crash there, then ride back to butte on Sunday. with all this snow it could be...difficult... and also i probably will just catch a ride if it's too ridiculously cold...If you're interested get in touch with me.

at about 6 am I'm Starting up Hail Columbia Road to Basin, then depending on the snow i may head up Basin Creek road to Rimini (which is where I'm actually heading)or follow the frontage road to boulder and take Heidi Way to Clancy, then go over chessman road. the first option is shorter but really high up. truly impassive snow. the second option is about twenty miles longer, but also slightly lower, and a better road.... I kinda wish i knew how to share maps.

I see I'm a little late to the party but I live in Butte and have a fat bike and have been looking at routes to Helena also.  Would like to hear how it went for you, or maybe plan another trip if you are interested.
