I'm headed out to the St. George / Hurricane area for the first time over the long Memorial Day Weekend. I've been trying to hit Gooseberry Mesa for years and have finally decided now is the time.

In researching other trails in that area, it seems like most are pretty short. There are tons to choose from, but linking them up the best way into a really long ride is starting to frustrate me given my extremely limited knowledge of the area.

Can anyone suggest some good link-ups to throw down some long miles out there?

Pm Dave Harris or LyndaW.

They probably have a dozen routes to let you loose on.

Well, 3-4 hours is a pretty standard ride for me and I routinely like to hit the 6-8 hour mark at least once on most weekends.

I figure we'll explore Gooseberry for a whole day maybe. Then something like that 3-4 hour ride on one day and maybe check out Zion since I've never been there either. But for one day at least I think we want to try and put together an all-day type ride.

Thanks for any ideas!

Hi when at Gooseberry, ride Gander. You pick it up off Windmill. It isn't too well known yet, but really nice. As an out an back, figure 2 1/2 hours minimum. It follows the rim the whole way. Great views!   There is a trail system beyond Gander as well. Have never ridden it though. Freddy at Zion Cycles or Quentin at OTE should be able to help. Little creek is a great 4 hour ride. JEM Hurricane Rim to Goulds is fun and there is some new trail,in that system as well. Goosebumps is pretty cool. Right at the bottom of Gooseberry Mesa. The big loop at Guacamole is certainly worth hitting as well.
Hope this helps
