Flying into Saigon(HCMC) October 16 for 5 month trek. No specific route but Vietnam Cambodia and Laos are the focus so far traveling south to north.
My old travel partner Jon plans to join me for part of it but others are welcome to join us. We really hope to mix things up between the beaches,mountains, hill tribe areas and jungle. We are trekkers, not racers and plan a relaxed ride with a focus on immersion in the natural beauty and varied culture that is SE Asia. We ride mountain bikes set up for trekking. Probably rear panniers of some sort.
We aren't young, we have been...we are quite a bit saner these days.
I am a fair bicycle mechanic and an RN, Jon is special, maybe we both are.
FWIW my round trip ticket from LAX was $470usd and the bike flies free if under 45# and boxed small.
