Starting planning early: TransAm in spring/summer 2014, east to west

I want to bike the TransAm in spring/summer of 2014, going east to west. The plan is to go to at a semi-leisurely pace-- about 50 miles a day with rest days so we can actually explore the beauty around us-- for a total of 3.5/4 months. Ideally, we'd be starting off in early April. Depending on how things go during the TransAm portion of the journey, I might want to add another leg afterwards and take the Pacific Coast trail down south.

I'm on a budget and want to primarily stick to camping and cooking, though I'm not opposed to occasionally couchsurfing or finding a cheap motel.

I'm a female in my mid-20's. I have a fair amount of biking and backpacking experience, though this would be my first bikepacking trip of this caliber. I'm looking to get a group of 4+ people total. Please reply if interested!
