I am considering riding from Yellowknife to Colorado this summer. Plan to pick up ACA routes in Jasper National Park with a mix of road routes and Great Divide Mountain Bike, but the roads from Yellowknife to Jasper are an unknown. Anyone have experience riding the highways of Northern/Central Canada?

I’ve ridden most all the main roads between Yellowknife, Anchorage and Jasper. Not super confusing at all — get a copy of The Milepost and you should be fine. Most of The Milepost’s data are online now too.

Another good reference are the backroads map books.

I lived in Yellowknife in the 90's.
There are some long stretches with no re-supply in NWT and Northern Alberta.
Nothing you couldn't plan for but it ain't the trans am.
Sounds like an awesome adventure. Keep us posted!
