Not just interesting. But gives it credibility from the bikepacking community. Go team salsa.
I made a joke about team uk. But it does not seem so far fetched. Think alex has taken the underground bikepacking racing and dragged it into public eye. Because I can see this snowballing if there is decent coverage. As team salsa is there. Will giant, cannondale, merida etc follow? Or the smaller ones like pivot, hope, surley to name a few. I am looking forward to how this pans out.

Rumor mill says that expected winning times are going to be circa 60 hours, which makes me think that this will be more of an exercise is sleep deprivation than something like TD where there's a lot more strategy involved in terms of sleep/rest/recovery.
It also seems like it'll reward pure speed over plain old scrappy, deal-with-the-elements racing that happens with anything CTR length or longer.
Popcorn's ready.

Wasn't sure if you guys had seen this. It's an interview with Alex Harris, race director of The Munga - explaining what the race is and what the race isn't. http://www.mountainbikeradio.com/themunga/
