Looks like y'all are all set for a great event.  Right down to the wire.

Have fun, take chances, go big.  And for those of us that wanted to make it but can't, take pictures!

The inaugural BikePacking stage race should be a lot of fun I just hope I can get to stop 1 in time for one of those beers. Or else Munds Park is going to look real inviting. Bonus points for BYOB on Mingus is it worth the extra weight on the big climb.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Place.

Hey Folks! So I'm sorry I haven't chimed in yet but the racer pages are built. Each racer's page will have that racer's audio, much like we did with CTR and the  TD. A link is displayed to the right on every MTBCast.com page so it should be easy to find. OR you can just append the racer's name with dashes to the standard URL like so:

Scottie just called.   icon_biggrin  He says the riding in Sedona is awesome!  Lime Kiln had shandies (sitty sand).  He is just about to climb up Mingus.  He has almost caught Chad, but Chad hightailed it out of Cottonwood when he saw Scott.

He also said that Rob Dennis has dropped out and is riding back to Flagstaff.

I think he has plans to call me again when he arrives at Stop 2.

Coconino: Yuri is in Cottonwood grabbing a bite at Hog Wild. He just saw Tim McCabe head out and he will be heading up Mingus later.

Scottie just called.  He is with Chad.  They have made it to the second stage stop before sunset!  icon_biggrin  He says it is cold and that they hiked their bikes for the last two hours.  Based on where Rob B. is he should make it just before sunset, but the others are doomed to ride in the dark. sad2

This is the hardest stage of the race and you can be assured that these guys are beginning to suffer!  Hopefully everyone makes it before bedtime there is not much room to camp except for a very slim spot right on the trail.

Mike Jones is about 2 hours ahead of the stage racers and it looks like he is still riding.

OKAY! Something is very wrong.  I was just about to have a conniption fit because Scottie and Lee show up as scratched on the tracker.  I know that if Scottie were to scratch he would call me.  I thought that maybe something was wrong.  Maybe a crash?  I imagined him helicoptered by a rescue team off the mountain unconscious and losing blood.

I called Chad, Scott and Lee and finally Lee called.  He said that he had not scratched and that he seen Scottie 2 hours ago.  So I think everything is fine.  The person doing the scratches seems to have made a mistake.  I will stop freaking out now and so can you Paula and Harleywood.

Hello, hello!!  If your out there Scratch Person....you seem to have scratched the wrong people!  Please fix it soon so we can watch the race.

Thanks, Hungry Gnome, for your update.  Harleywood and I have been wondering all day why Scott and Lee would have scratched with no word.  Hopefully the error can be fixed and we can watch them race again.  Still waiting.
