Ah so that's what's going on!  I thought it would be rather odd to go stealth on an ITT Wink

Maybe he's oblivious to his proximity to record time....maybe he's just at a new level where this is his 6 day pace.

We'll know if he opts for a hotel instead of the road to Roosevelt.

He has to know...he is cruising!

I think it is 7 miles from where you drop into the singletrack at the top of Picket Post to the end, right? He must have something like 12 miles to go.

It's still a nail biter.  As of the recent points he is still 24 min behind Jefe's pace.  In fact it is so close we probably won't know for sure until he calls in with his exact time to finish the 300.  We'll have to wait more than just a couple more hours Wink

I don't know the route except that the end must be pretty tough/slow based on split times.

He is yanking chains for sure!

Yep, everything at the end is slow.  He's got a grunt of a ~1200' climb that is unrideably steep at the top, then the final 7 miles of singletrack are not particularly hard, but they climb an alarming amount and are difficult to make good time on.

You're right that we may not know until he calls in.  We might be able to say for sure that he didn't make it, but if it's close his first point at the end might be too close to call.

I think he just got airlifted to the top of that hike a bike.  Maybe he's going Tanner style now??

Yeah, fast hiking or maybe riding?!   1.5 hours to go, I think he can just do it.

Comparison vid:

Wow, had not seen an AZT video yet.  Jefe is friggin amazing, what a freight train of inertia!

Whether or not Kurt sets a new 300 mark it will be interesting to see how he proceeds beyond superior.  Methinks he's burning matches.

Burning matches for sure, but then again, he's got a couple extra boxes of matches to burn.  I could almost keep up with him fitness-wise last year, but he's taken things to a whole new level this year.  And here I used to think he was mortal...

So exciting to watch.  Looks like he's about done with the climbing!

He's made the pass.

Assuming of course the tracker data is airtight!

The parallel to me chasing Kurt last year without either of us ever seeing eachother vs. him chasing a virtual Jefe this year sure is amusing.  Not quite as amusing as Scott's dot video, but still enough to make me grin!   Wink

The thought had occurred to me.  In both cases devices play a role.  Spots, love'm and hate'm.

Last point suggests he'll make it... but... we need another point here.  It's close.
