Just over 8 weeks away there have been a couple of threads asking ? figured it was time to start a planning thread. Who's in?

Edited to add.
Seems like all of the water questions have been at the AZTR thread. So I am going to call this one the shuttle planning thread as that seems to be what has been discussed so far.

I was riding this weekend with a couple of local guys. We were able to shuttle Parker to Patagonia with the help of one of their friends.

I mentioned this thread and that it worked out good last year with Adam bringing a van from CO and I found him a driver in exchange for a ride down. Seems to make sense that some of the out of towner's will be bringing rigs down and locals can come up with drivers.

I might be able to join you all to tucson...if I can make it that far.  I am short on vacation days and want to save them for the COCO.

I am in for the 300 and 750. Looking for a ride from Colorado- I will split gas money with anyone who wants to head down to Tucson a few days prior to the start.

Dogsaver, leaving a rig at the Picketpost TH and then catching a ride into Tucson then carpooling down to Parker has worked before. Possibly someone coming down will offer to pick you up there in exchange for a ride back to Tucson after.

Last year one of the CO riders brought a minivan I hooked him up with a shuttle driver out of Tucson in exchange for a ride, not sure how but he got back here at the end. I have room here to park a couple of rigs if need be.

Mark how long did it take you to hitchhike home last year.

It took me about 34 hours to get home. I bet I could do it faster this year.

I think the AZT300 is going to be my first bikepacking experience.  I'll try to make it to Tucson.

Great once we get closer and see how many are coming who has what in the way of rigs we can start working things out. I am going down to Parker this weekend with some AZT newbie's. We have a shuttle driver from here in Tucson I'll ask if he is still going to be in town come race time.

The minivan worked out great last year. We had plenty of room for 4 racers and the shuttle driver, I think we could have fit the drivers bike in also. That had been his plan drive us down and just get a quick ride in, until he saw the weather he didn't even bother with all of the snow.

I think the AZT300 is going to be my first bikepacking experience.  I'll try to make it to Tucson.

Alright, making it back to Tucson is a good ride in itself.

I know DogSaver has the same idea. Do you mean the Picketpost TH or in the town of Superior.

Not sure where in town, pretty sure rigs have been left at the TH it's pretty remote so less lowlife traffic out there. Not sure I would leave anything in town unless you can come up with a secure local. I was told not to lay my bike down in Superior "not even if you are standing next to it" of course that was in a pretty sketchy part of town.

I know one guy left a rig a Parker TH as well but I would think getting them back to Tucson makes the most sense.

I'm in for the 300. Count me in on the folks needing a ride from Tucson to the start. Not quite sure what to do at the other end. Maybe someone will meet me there with sushi if I am really lucky  glasses2

I meant it in the general sense. Would like to have a car on the back end as I finish up.Any advise would be appreciated.

Still need to figure out how I will get to Parker.
Will be leaving SoCal on the 13th.

AZTripper I believe I crossed paths with you the night of day One last year. I was on the SS Siren.

Pedal1Long

I remember meeting you at the ruins outside of Patagonia I believe. And then again after waiting on Reddington for the explosion you were on the way back to town then right. Good to hear you are coming back for a second go at it.

I might be able to get up to the Picket Post TH the day before to pick up riders at end point and get them back to Tucson. I think the key will be who has the biggest shuttle rig. Then possibly I can get it back up there at the end but someone will need to get me back to Tucson.

AZTripper.......yep that was me.
Looking forward to another run at the route. Seems the biggest issue is getting to the start and getting home.
I will be heading out of the SoCal mountains on wensday night and will bring a vehicle that can carry 5 bikes and 5 riders.
Willing to pick up riders in Phoenix and Tucson once I know where my car will be stashed.
thanks for starting this thread.

Great I have parking space here in Tucson but I don't have a good shuttle rig.
