Matt lee seemed to indicate that the "old" td track on topofusion was "certified" official in Feb in the thread here.

http://www.bikepacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=1666.0

But then I believe there are two small changes and then a bigger one in the gila.

I'm hoping Scott feels like updating a fresh GPX file, if not my plan is to take the aca gpx and add in the silver city re-route as I think that's the only change from the ACA, (I could be wrong altogether here).

I see.

I was under the impression they were going to notify us when the track was updated on the Topofusion website.

Here's Scott's final word (February 27th) from the abovementioned thread:

"EMathy -- no updates to the track yet.  The site will reflect the change (with a new date/version) when the update is out."

Hello all,
Thanks for all the amusing and helpful posts.  I will joining the northernly migration from AW.  I'm a rookie, so my only goal is to finish healthy. Do we have an official start time at the border, or is it up to the individual racer to track?  I have seen a few different times mentioned here.
Thanks
Robert

Two and a half times the normal snowpack is definitely going to make for some "interesting" conditions. Maybe I'll get a pack raft for the water crossings to go with my snow shoes for the riding.

Nice looking day in Elkford though:

If any of you riders out there are looking for frame bags and such there is a new company making them.

http://ride365ak.com/

They make great stuff and they are great to work with. I have been seeing their stuff out on the trail and it looks pretty sweet. I hear they have a quick turn around time too.....

We are now selling the 2011 narratives/cue sheets. Maps available to order later this week. I'll pass the word when they are.

Presuming they're the same format as before, but just updated. It's 14 rtf documents, 1 for each side of the full set of 7 maps.

Text is formatted like:

Quote
0.0    (0 km)   –    In the parking lot behind the Banff Springs Hotel, begin riding    south on the Spray River Trail.
3.6    (5.8)   –   Note bridge to left crossing Spray River. (Don’t go that way.)
★   6.2    (10.0)   –   Bear left toward “Goat Creek 1.7 Km”.
6.4    (10.3)   –   Cross Spray River and begin climbing.
6.8    (10.9)   –   Top of climb between Spray River and Goat Creek. Track becomes narrower.
7.5    (12.0)   –   Cross Goat Creek on bridge. Note beautiful waterfall to right.
8.5    (13.7)   –   Cross second in a series of three small bridges.
9.5    (15.3)   –   Cross third bridge in the series.

I'm assuming they'll email them to me.
I need to get cracking on updating my cues.

From what I understand (and please anyone correct me if I'm wrong), the cartographers at Adventure Cycling have just completed the 2011 versions of the map, which would have newish cues and those should be on this narrative - but ask ACA to be sure.

The Tour Divide should follow the route fairly closely, although there was talk of going off-route to minimize boring (and/or dangerous) road and up the single-trackiness. The parts mentioned were the Gold Dust trail, on Boreas Pass and a part in NM, BUT, I don't know if that has all been finalized. If memory serves me, it wasn't until 2 weeks before the start of TD that the Flathead re-route was announced in previous editions of the TD.

Either way, the alts. for Tour Divide won't be on the ACA narratives. So, if the narratives are for 2011, you got that part down.

It's worth starting this thread from the beginning and getting to the end - there's so much good information, the signal-to-noise is a little high, but it's a super good resource to get oneself prepared. Veteran advice, galore.

For the racers and TD fans who felt our terrible loss last year, here are some stories about Dave's ride. http://teamkaker.com/david-blumenthal/

It takes a few days for them to process the order. Keep in mind you have to purchase the cues separately (Only 8.75 extra for the digital cues).

There are a few changes for the TD course that are not on the ACA maps.

Here's what Casey wrote previously:

If all you need is the major route change then just pick up Section 6. The rest is fairly similar. There are a few more smallish changes, but between the official TD gps track, ACA free waypoint data, the new 2011 $6ish cue sheets, and your 2009 maps, you'll be more than fine. I personally wouldn't see any reason to get a full set of new maps.
