Scott,
Please add (to the calendar) the inaugural Allegheney Mountains Loop . The first-ever "group" ITT leaving from the Virginia Tech campus at 8:00am on Friday October 5th 2012. This TD-like route will feature 400 miles of gravel, rail-trail and some pavement with more than 25,000 feet of climbing. And as an added bonus... it's during "peak" fall foliage along the Virginia/West Virginia border.
Let's celebrate another great ACA "fat tire" route and make the "AML" a challenge that can be a stepping stone for Tour Divide-aspiring, east-coast bikepackers.
Toe(ing) the line ...

Dixie 200 start date is June 23. Snowpack is waaaay down from last year's record levels and the long range forecast is warm/dry. I'll do a fair bit of recon this spring to weed out any sections of the route that have not yet had blowdown cleared out, so the course won't be final until the last week or two.
