If it were not so darn close to the CTR this year I would do it again. Tom and the Vapor Trail Crew are amazing! Week and a half till race time, anyone else getting a little excited?

In the final excited/freak stage right now.  I shipped my bike to Denver so hopefully it will be waiting for me on Monday.

This will be my third try.  Try #1 (2010) - Made it to Breck and listened to my son's crying voicemails.  Went home to be a dad.,  Try #2 (2012) - Wife took a job in Seattle, move in date Aug. 3.  So I left Colorado, sold the house in Minnesota and drove to Washington.  Try #3 (2014) - So far nothing looks like it is stopping me. thumbsup

My bike:

I rode my Mukluk from Waterton to Hwy 9 in 2013 and it was so much more comfortable then my 29".  This bike weighs in at 27# and have the gear down to 10# on the bike and it just rolls over everything.

I'm going to start my ITT on Saturday the 9th.  Good luck to everyone and say hi as you pass.

PS.  I plan on driving back from Durango to Denver on Sunday the 17th.  If someone needs a ride, ping me here.

Just throwing this out there to any out-of-towners flying into Denver right before the race.  If you don't want to eat the cost of a hotel room night before the race you could crash at my place and head out with me to the start.  PM me if you're interested.

Looks like Karlos was on his way at 10:00am this morning.

Weather is socked-in cloudy crapiness right now, but I guess he'll have a cool afternoon through the burn area.

Are northbound ITTers welcome on track leaders as well? I start middle of the night tomorrow most likely Smiley

Hi all.  Name is Pat from the Stagestop Saloon and the Stagestop Store on CR77 mile marker 9 west of Tarryall Reservoir.  It is part of the Lost Creek Wilderness detour that the race is taking.  Just thought I would check in and let you know I am looking forward to seeing everyone this year.  I had some good discussions with everyone last year so I hope many of you are planning a stop this year.  I will have the store stocked with many of your favorites and will serve food in the bar later than normal if you stop in.   Beer garden is open for camping and if I know you are there can get coffee on early.   I figure racers will make it the first night and second day.  I couple guys that been test riding have clocked it here from denver in 14, 18, & 20 hrs.  If you got any recommendations for me drop them here and I will see what I can do.

Hope everyone has a great race and I will try to keep the light on the first few nights.  If you see them ring the bell at the store.

I'll try to make a stop there, Pat! Not racing, just reporting.

Maybe it will clear up? hahahahahahahahhaa

10-4 Joe.

I'm actually also pleased with the rain, trails were dry and dusty for the most part until recently.  However ...yes, I don't remember these monsoons being so dramatic and early. I do of course hope it slows down in 8 days Smiley funny you mention that, Itoday I was stuck in a horrible storm, I thought to myself...WHat Would Jefe Do. Lol
