Nice work Scott and thanks!  Not sure if Velodirt's Oregon Outback fits on here but it is worth mention.  There's definitely going to be a fair amount of racing going down, haven't heard anything on Spot tracking though.

There are rumors of a Trans Afrika road race in in October, it's just a rumor though, I would say it hasn't quite hit the planning stages.  It would be cool though, a triple crown of road bikepacking!

The 2nd annual California Sierra Trail Race will be on Friday July 18th, 2014. I'm thinking of a five day stage race as an option as well.

8/10 seems kind of late for the CTR.  Full monsoon action by then for sure.  I had hoped to do it this year after just missing my opportunity last year.  But I go back to work (college professor) on 8/11.  Bummer.

I was just writing back to Stefan on that.  Personally I think it's a crapshoot at any time in late July and all throughout August.  Some of my best CT tour days have happened in August.  But that's just my take.

BTW, his server is still down, not likely to come back up any time real soon, it sounds like.
