Actually started my prep for the 2015 race this past December. Definitely a little bit earlier than I've seen others get ready, but I'm just that way. Managed a good week of gear and body testing the last week of July when I went out and rode from Roosville to Ovando and back to Swan Lake with a couple of friends. Still a lot of stuff to get refined before June. I've been taking a bit of a mental break, but it's time to get back at it again here soon.

I've been fascinated with the TD and GDR before that. I'm turning 60 next year and want to give it a shot. Bought Fargo Ti this summer for the trip. #TD15

Hi All, To help with next year's Cordillera, I've put up on Google Docs the unofficial entry list for TDR 2015 to: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AnV6xT65HkPRdEx5eUtMaTZmVWQ5TTVlUlNhaFg2RFE&usp=sharingPlease be sure to include your e-mail addresses so I can harass you for contributions! Kindly DO NOT SORT the workbook or delete entries etc. The 2014 list was seriously munted and it was only thanks to efforts of David Chirnside and Kent McDonald that it was repaired. In case you are interested, Volume 6 of the Cordillera will hopefully be out by Thanksgiving. Contributions are slowly flowing in (hint hint ...) and I'm planning on breaking the back of the editing in October.

Im guessing the answer is in earlier threads, but thought i'd ask here. Routing, i know the route follows the Adventure cycling maps, but using GPS, I have a Garmin etrex 30. Is there a route to download to the garmin that follows the maps? Thanks

It's official - I'm in! Not sure if letters of intent are still a thing, but you can read mine at http://davidjamesphillips.blogspot.com/2014/09/tour-divide-2015-letter-of-intent.htmlThanks to Christopher Bennet, Scott Morris, Matthew Lee, and everyone else involved in the grassroots administration of the Tour Divide. I know it's a labor of love. Looking forward to this year - training, getting to know folks here, more training, obsessing about gear, more training, arguing with Garmin, more training... So it goes. Cheers everyone! See you on the trail. -David Phillips

Howdy y'all, I can't believe the 2015 TDR is in the works, it seems like when I did it was just the other day (now well over a year since 2013). I promised if I finished the TDR, I'd write a book. I did finish the TDR and as promised, I've finished my book. It's on Amazon (kindle version) and physical book is in the works (I'm proofing it right now). If you're interested, here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Trail-Magic-Art-Soft-Pedaling-ebook/dp/B00NJQZ6GK/. It includes a link to an interactive map of videos/photos of places I stopped on the divide in regards to getting services (hint, hint, wink, wink... this is rather important for your race!). Thanks for considering reading it!

I have been doing some soul searching and it's on this day that I have committed to 2015 TD. I'm excited, nervous, and a little afraid. Must be the wright decision. I am so new to the sport of bikepacking that half of my gear still has price tags on it. I look at June as being a long way off until I start thinking of the various tasks that need tending to. I've given myself several pep talks and motivational speeches about what inner strength this race will require not to mention the financial commitment. Flood me with information wise ones. I need all I can get. See everyone in Banff

Just read Scott's book "Trail Magic and the art of soft pedaling" ( see above ) Nice work Scott, it's a good read, well written, gets you right into just how hard this event is.. I very much enjoyed it.

Michael - waiting on my hardcopy to come in, to proof it (make sure it looks good and there's no printing errors) then it'll be ready! Cordillera = THE BEST info ever! MikeI = thanks! Wyatt72 - fear is your friend, but as Matt Lee has said in the past... you "pack for your fears" (so don't overpack!)

Also Wyatt, in my book there is a link to an interactive map complete with videos and photos from the divide (warning: really bad videos with my cell phone!) also and most importantly, there are many points on the map that show places for services... these are paramount in the race as you'll want to know where every stop is when you're down to one piece of beef jerky and a half a bottle of water.
