My Garmin 1000 says 2652
“How far is Antelope Wells?” asked Merry, gazing round wearily. The world looked wild and wide from Indiana Pass. “I don’t know if the Road has ever been measured in miles beyond Brush Mountain Lodge, a day’s journey south of Rawlins.” answered Strider. "Some say it is so far, and some say otherwise. It is a strange road, and folk are glad to reach their journey’s end, whether the time is long or short.” with apologies to J.R.R. Tolkien.

I'm guessing that the 10K track will show the mileage as slightly shorter than the track with more points as it will naturally have to cut corners to trim the track down to 10K points. 100 miles extra seems like quite a bit extra tho.

Scott, do we just download it then drop it into the Garmin folder on the eTrex, then Enable the map in the settings? Thanks. Dave
Yep, the map should be enabled by default(at least it is on my eTrex20 which is what I tested the img on when I built it), so really you should just have to remove the -v1 image file from the Garmin directory and replace it with -v2 image file. It should show up in settings as GDMBR-basemap-v2.

Robert Orr and I got the pleasure of riding some miles with Billy Rice today. We rode down to greet him a couple miles south of the Clark Store and gave him an escort through Clark and up RCR62. Billy was in great spirits and was making his way up to Brush Mountain Lodge to spend a couple days with Kirsten and Greg before moving on. Here are a few pics: Billy making his way up 129 when we rode up on him: Billy's rig at the Clark Store: Robert Orr and Billy Rice riding up RCR62 Billy and Robert with some big smiles! Tour Divide fever has officially begun in Clark, CO.

It's his sleeping mat, he said he rolls without one most of the time but with the weather he stopped and bought one. That under the top tube position he came up with is a great stash spot for it.

Howdy everybody from Ovando Montana, population 50 eagerly awaiting this years TDR riders. Our first ITT came thru today: Tiana Tallant from Flagstaff, Arizona came in this morning after spending the night on the mountain past Richmond Ridge. Which in its usual fashion was not a fun experience. Being the first person to approach it she naturally lost the trail due to lack of previous use. After forcing the panic down she made it down and into Ovando. And out again by noon in good spirits. She did say she had requested her gps be added to track leaders so folks could find her but so far it has not occurred. If anybody has a solution that would be great.
Good to be back! Carry on.

Figured while I was posting about Tiana I would show you all the cycling shelters that are provided in Downtown Ovando for only $5 a night. There is the Tepee, Shepherds Wagon and Hooscow, aka Jail. And it is original too. The tepee is new this year after the last one shredded in a storm. This ones made of sunbrella and guaranteed for 18 years. Each shelter comes with clothes line, mirror, LED lantern and some reading material along with the sign in log and donation can. All proceeds go to the Ovando Improvement Fund which bought the new tepee. As for the shower, for the 2nd year in a row the tent shower went with a gust of wind last fall into another county never to be found. But the solar bags are still available behind the wagon. We're ready for ride and roll! At least we hope so!
Carry on!

Thanks, Angler! Those accommodations look deluxe (especially compared with outhouse floors!) Hopefully you will have no hypothermic visitors this year.

Hats off to you folks in Ovando. That Teepee looks like heaven. Had a great break there on our summer trip late last July. Will be good to hopefully be there again in a few short weeks.

From her tracker it seems like Tiana has made a couple of interesting detours. I'm wondering why. It seems like it can't be snow because she did go over Richmond Pass, but she turned around on Red Meadow. She also detoured out of Elkford. I'm curious if her reasons are typical TD obstacles (mud, snow, road washouts) or bigger issues (bridge out, or wide-scale avalanche debris and unstable terrain.)

Can anyone help me get setup on Trackleaders within the next few days for a NoBo ITT beginning June 5? There seems to be no info coming back from both Scott and Matthew. Thanks for any help. Saul

The Elkford backtrack appears to be due to the bridge still being out - apparently she did not know about the Josephine Falls re-route.

Looks like she also cut the route from Roosville to Eureka. I wonder if she is intending to do the Tour Divide or just a version of the GDMBR?

She talks about doing Tour Divide on her FB page, and references Jill's book on http://www.gofundme.com/tianatallant Wish her the best ! ( and I think it would be hard to get her Delorme tracker tied into trackleaders .. a buddy asked Scott about that last year, trackleaders has the API's all figured out to import Spot data, but Delorme is quite different )
