I can't wait to come back and ride the Dixie 200 and the Coconino again. We need more short, yet technical routes.

More short-but-singletrack/chunk/MTB routes, you say? Okay. In the planning stages for a new, ~220 mile event down here in SW Colorado - The Velorution Venture, on September 5 (Labor Day weekend). Scott, would you mind penciling that in above? Rode most of the planned loop this year and it's awesome. What's not singletrack is FS road, very little pavement, and some good hike-a-bike! Still need to benchmark/GPS the route as a whole, but will have to wait until the snow melts in the spring. More info will be available in mid-2015 on our Events page - velorutioncycles.com/events

From the start line here at VC, there's ~14 miles of "lollipop stem" - overlap out of/into town - in the current version. Working on getting rid of much of that as well, although I don't want to get too contrived or make it too easy to inadvertently cut the course. Other than that, a full loop, largely in areas not often frequented by MTBers. Looking forward to getting out and benchmarking the complete course. Thanks for adding it to the list!

Tour de los Padres will now be April 17th. Stagecoach 400 changed to March 27th, so just trying to give riders that are doing both events more than a week to recover

Got it, thanks Erin.
One week should be plenty for anyone doing Stagecoach and AZT. :-)

Scott, Please ADD to the Ultra Calendar the 2015 inaugural pedaling of "THE AML EXTREME"... May 1st 2015 (Friday @ 6:00am) This challenge is a Billy Rice-inspired "Yo-Yo"... pedaling 253 miles north from Virginia Tech's War Memorial Chapel to the WV/MD border... there and back again... a Tour Divide shakedown that will leave riders well-prepared for the rigors of Canada and Montana. This route adds many miles of gravel and climbs NOT PEDALED on the AML400 loop. Using the east side of AML... it pedals "out and back" for a total of 506 miles and averages more than 28,000 feet of climbing EACH WAY !!! This solo, self-supported adventure will observe the bikepacking ethos of other "ultras" in this discipline. The new gravel and climbs include... Switzerland Trail (gravel road) High Top Tower Road to Pub Rd 55 Old Pike Road (CR-3) John's Run Road (250/4) Middle Mountain Road (CR-10) past (CR-422) Sully Road (CR-10) north of Hwy 33 Gladwin Road (CR-45) Granville Good Road (CR-26/2) Richford Road (CR-26) River Road (CR-26) Blackwater Canyon Trail (old rail trail) Rail Falls Road (CR-27/3) Kempton Road (CR-9) to the WV/MD border LOIs are requested and Trackleaders will be utilized for this challenge... spread the word. Looking forward to "toeing the line" with everyone in May...
