Now that we have a couple riders on course, let's get the race discussions going.
Cjell Money is cruising right along, getting set to tackle the Big Hill then the uber fun Ripsey ridgeline descent into Kelvin. Should be a beautiful day down by the Gila.
Good to see Taprider moving southbound after a long break near Kelvin. These two should cross paths shortly.

Thanks Barry, should've added that in the first post!!
Let's see if the Money man takes the Gold Canyon option this morning, he's at the decision point!
**EDIT: He's made his decision, traditional route!!**

A very good 3d 7hr "300" for Cjell, as an ITT effort. Boo-yah. Was hoping he'd go all-in for the new Gold option. Perhaps he didn't get the intel before his start, though.

I also imagine he's destroying some Gold Cyn food options right about now. I would.

Yeah, I don't think he knew about it -- very last minute choice to get this party rolling.... thus the missing the store hours early on.
Solid 300 effort for a 750 ITT. One thing he's gunning for is the overall SS record. I believe it's currently held by Alice Drobna at 9:13, unless someone can correct me?

I just saw Alex Harris' name on Trackleaders for the 750. Wonder if he's going for a triple this year. anyone know?

Color me blind, but I can't seem to find 300 vs 750 filter/layer/category on TL (yet). If it's there, can anyone point it out?

Reload the page and you'll get a drop down for 300 vs 750. Alex Harris is doing the 300 this year.

Rode both sections on the ends of Mormon Lake today. We removed about 5 trees from trail. There are some more but not loads of them. We got some snow up here a few days ago. The trail was kind of gooey in sections, not super fast. I think it will dry out nicely by the time the 750 racers roll though there in the race. Cjell may be slowed up a bit on the rim. Its around 60 today and tomorrow the middle 60s.

Go Cjell!! Looks like he dropped into the Canyon around 1am & now somewhere near Phantom Ranch. He may very well set a record for the least number of humans encountered from Tusayan to the North Rim!! Awesome.

He's still on pace to maybe go under 9 days and set a SS record, not to mention one of the faster times, period. Not many have snuck under 9 days.

Did Cjell weasel his way onto a boat trip? Did his spot run out of juice? Is he eating Prime Rib at Phantom Ranch for 12 hours?

Unicycle on the 750....I guess it was just a matter of time. He should be pretty quick on the HAB!!
Cjell's SPOT is ticking again!! Popped up in Jacob Lake around 3:30a. Only a few hours to go.

Looks like that 1pm start worked out well to finish under 9 days.
Go Cjell!

Cjell gets it done in 8 days and 21.5 hours. Amazing single speed record, which included an extended stop in Sonotia to get a tatoo.
