Just a heads up, part of the route is ironically closed right now due to the massive Pioneer Fire: http://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/4866/ . It's one of those that will probably need a season ending event to put out.

Anyone have advice on late night food options in Ketchum? Like around midnight?

It looks like Jackson's is open 24 hours. Just off route. Looks like you could cut across the grass off of Main Street to avoid going all the way around?
Also looks like there is Base Camp Fuel at the intersection of Warm Springs and Main. Not sure on the hours though.

I exaggerated, probably won't roll through until 2 or 3 AM, but it'll still be open, thanks! I'm looking at Grumpy's for the second pass through Ketchum, and a couple bike shops are located right near there too for Powder/electrolyte type stuff. Another question (maybe you have experience with the route?), with the added miles but decrease in vertical, I wonder if I need a bigger chainring? How much "granny" is involved on some of these roads? Not worried about the singletrack, probably be pushing those even with easier gearing, but I'm thinking I could get spun out on the paved highway and at the end in Middle Fork.

Last year I needed all the low gearing available. The route is so different this year its hard to know. Regardless, it'll be a fun time! See you guys tomorrow. We'll be on the big geeen tandem.
