Does anyone the best return flight option for international travelers?  I was planning on flying into Auckland, but then have no idea what is the best option once you reach the end point on the southern island.  Do you need to back track to Auckland and if so what is the best option for doing that?

Thanks

You can fly Invercargill - Auckland on Air New Zealand (just book online on Air NZ site) or you could ride/ bus to Queenstown - see some sights/ hang there for a few days before direct flight back to AKL. There are more airline options out of Queenstown that may give you a better price.

Thanks.  I'll take a look at the options you mention.

Didn't know this ride existed!! Wierdly I Am doing a charity challenge - solo - carrying kit leaving UK on Feb 1st and arriving in Bluff on 27th Feb.  All money raised goes to Love Hope Strength Foundation, a Rock and Roll Cancer charity. I will be blogging everyday and all blogs and updates available on my facebook page - www.facebook.com/OneChallengeAtATime for anyone interested.  For anyone around the South Island on 27th Feb there will also be a gig in Dunedin to raise money and awareness for the charity - it would be great to see other bike riders there! All details on my facebook page! Maybe will see some of you along the way  headbang

Are you saying you will be in Bluff and Dunedin on the same day?

Its looking like the http://www.touraotearoa.nz/ may well be held again, as an event, its been so well received, possibly in 2018.

Check out a few blogs from this years event. I found it to be an amazing event.
