Two 'AD's on course Aaron heading south and Alice coming up to Mogollon Rim. Where will the AD spike happen, somewhere between Flag and Tusayan?

Should be an AD spike today, indeed.

Denberg is lighting it up, as expected.  From Utah to Coconino Rim in 24 hours?!

They may meet for lunch in Flag, haha.
Aaron's only been stopped for 6 something hours to his 2d16h moving so far... Get it Aaron!

Actually that 2:16 is a bug for ITTs.  He started yesterday.  I bet a lot of the 6 hrs stopped time was in the canyon, where, from a tracking perspective, racers aren't moving.  I bet he's hardly stopped.

Okay, that's it.  I've had it with the headwinds!  If I was doing the mass start I would stick it out, but as an itt, I'm tired of fighting it.  My car is at stateline, so I'm going to restart from mex. on Wed.  Sure, I will be a bit tired from hiking the canyon, but it is still better than fighting the wind, plus, when I finish I won't have to hassle with the logistics of getting my car.  It might seem lame, but I have the time and I just don't want all my effort to go into grinding against the wind...

Gnarly. Rest up, reset and get after it Aaron! Best of luck, we'll be watching.

I guess there's no easy way to get ITT's on the Leader Board to update checkpoints based on their start time?

Hi guys, JF here. Was going to go for an ITT on the full 750, but I'm calling it here at the 300 finish line and will have to come back for more another year. Very hard to deal with the heat and dehydration. Can't seem to get caught up with fluid and food. I don't know how you guys do it but you are machines!

All the best to everyone else on course and thanks for all the great threads that made my start possible.

JF

Sawmill fire going big in the Santa Ritas, with the high winds today and tomorrow it could spill over from west to east and threaten the trail.  I would watch the fire situation very carefully in there.  :/

Fire Down South in the Santa Rita/Sonoita area. Highway 83 remains closed and the fire has almost doubled in size today. Be safe out there everyone.

Congrats to Arunas for knocking out the 300 portion of the 750 last night. He's rolling towards Queen Valley now...

He sent me a video y'day from the lower section of the Gila climb where he watched a full length train roll down the tracks. I've only ever seen a one or two car train chugging along very slowly on those tracks.

I saw one there too.  Joe, you missed it when you took off!

It had 2 engines and 8-9 cars.

I only had cell phone camera so I can't zoom, but it was still cool to see this.

Her shoes blew apart, and she didn't like the idea of getting a new pair to ride and hike the canyon in.  She mentioned it was insanely hot and brutal, as always.

I can only imagine! I've hiked the canyon in April, June, and July before and you're right, it is brutal.

No aztr for me this spring.  The sawmill fire blew up and the aztr is closed around sonoita, plus lots more wind in forecast with dust storms Friday and Saturday.  Maybe I can try another itt in the fall.  Those of you who have started this race, especially this windy year, will have no problem believing I am mote than a little relieved not to fight the wind anymore!
