9 people still showing 0 feet after 2 hours including Wicks, Greg Hardy, and Curtiss Barrett. Neil B showing no update at mile 1.9 of the 300. Spot update issues or something more troubling?
Just tracking hiccups. The veterans should know better! Some are showing up slowly, like Dave H from OZ and Greg. "Pivot 429sl E-bike version" Did I read this bike spec correctly? Ebike on AZT750?
That's Max Morris, and surely a joke. Though I see that Pivot really does make an E-bike? Didn't know that.

I was just talking on the phone to a friend of mine in Green Valley and in mid-conversation realized I had primal brain cells screaming... It's about that time of year for the AZT. I hung up and searched for this thread. What, it's already started? How did I know? I haven't been following any of the planning thread and didn't even know the start was a day early [from when I last did the 300 in '16]. I might have to take off the blinders and ride it again next year. Once bitten, right? Everyone on the trail, have fun and good luck!

Kurt really motors. Interesting to stalk the dots to see where the fast riders stop, and don't stop. Looks like Kurt skips Patagonia and Sonoita, anybody confirm/deny that? I usually skip Patagonia and just hit Sonoita. Krazy fast.

Anyone know what happened to Jennifer Hanson? She detoured off on Canelo Pass and is heading toward Sonoita. Kurt and Kait are the best endurance power couple. They have been consistently in the lead with Neil bouncing around them. This should be exciting to see how it all plays out.

That is always the big question. Time will tell.

Yep, easier to rip it on day 1 than it is on day 2! Just got some news on Diedra Bustos who is our red lantern (back of the pack). She seems to have a good plan but her SPOT batteries died already (rechargeables). So she is fine at last report and will get new batteries in Patagonia or Sonoita. She is shooting for 50 miles a day, but at this point, nothing to worry about. The front end is crushing it indeed. It's a warm day as expected. Some afternoon breeziness but nothing as bad as last year's desiccating wind. Steve Terry had a quick pace in the Canelos until crashing and busting his der hanger. He's a scratch. Robert Kennedy (ITT) also reported a scratch. Got a couple more ITTers tomorrow, as well as our southbound folks, still to start.

The Hansons are out -- Jenn not feeling well and the heat got to her. I suggested maybe an ITT next week. Current forecast for Fri/Sat is looking a lot friendlier than this 90 degree roasting.

Scott, any interest in posting up 'record splits' in the leaderboard, a la Tour Divide tracker? Just curious, not a full-fledged request. Maybe just for the 750? You know, since the 300 is "over so quickly" . 7hrs to K Camp from Parker, and 8hrs from the border seems to be de-facto standard target for the faster riders over the years. Inspiring. Topping out from Molino Basin is next time-stamp of interest for me. Good luck and tail winds to all this year!

Any photos of the race would be much appreciated here in Australia - I am running a Fb page for friends and family of Dave H so up to date images would be great to add to that. Thanks in advance

He's been know to pack all his calories for a 300, but Enough to make Basha in Gold Canyon doesn't seem possible.

Have a great one guys. From the looks of it so far, you should be bumping into Kurt about five minutes after your start.

Hello friends. Just couldn't resist... I'm back to watching those blue dots. Wishing that I was one this year, seeing people I know ride through areas I've been makes for a slideshow of memories! Scott, thanks as ever for putting this event on and providing the tracking to boot. Shout out for Dana Ernst (no relation to me), flying out there and making Bedrock look good even freshly off a crash-induced shoulder injury. Stoked to see Dana and so many friends from over the years out there for 2018!

Hey all....broke my rear thru axle just shy of Kentucky Camp just before sunset. Makeshift repair and I limped back to Sonoita. Staying here and looking for a ride into Tucson to get repair if anyone knows someone coming thru Sonoita or willing to pick me up! Bill 928 814 3671

Finally made it back home after driving all over southern AZ today!! Last night and this morning down at the start was a blast, just what I needed since I couldn't participate ON the trail. I took a ton of pics from PCL, I'll get a link posted tomorrow. Great seeing everyone, putting faces to dots, etc.
Anyone know what's up with Justin DuBois?? He's gone way off route to the west side of the Santa Ritas!?! I believe he was the 2nd 750 rider through PCL this morning about 15 minutes behind Kurt.
Looks like Neil B. has jumped to the front!! He must be loving that new ride!!
So much stoke out there, keep cranking!!
Still 3 riders not showing a point, Curtis B., Justin M. & Doug L.??

Pretty sure that's Max's little joke.
Yeah, that sounds like Max. Just be glad he's not racing naked...
