Thank you for the information! I´m new in this race. It seems that he is going to beat Neil´s 2016 record! (In 2016 Neil also took the same deviation.)
Yep, snow detour. Just added it to the map to make it more clear. Looks like Kurt will take ~5 hrs off the record. That's my call. Quite an impressive overnight crossing for him. The temptation to stop and 1) drop bike 2) close eyes, must have been strong!

Thats what I'm thinking, I pushed it pretty hard after Jacob Lake, but I think 5-7 hours on my time is realistic. Stoked for him, and excited for the future of this race. A little bitter sweet, but at the same time if anyone was to do this, it was Kurt, who previously held the record for years. -Neil

Does anyone have an update on Max Morris? It looks like he slept on the trail above Mormon Lake last night, detoured into Mormon Lake Village, but he hasn't made any progress since early evening yesterday.

Looks like Max is heading back to the route after a stint at Mormon Lake.
Feels like Dustin's effort is getting lost out there, dude is crushing it as well. Justin has made a steady grind up the leaderboard and now sits in 9th. Alice can't quite completely shake Beth, both are riding strong.

Sitting here on a bench at the top of the handicap portion of the finish. Enjoying the Coyote Valley Geology. Caught a glimpse of the condors on the way in yesterday.
Heading out to ride up the final switchbacks looking forward to congratulating Kurt at the finish. I have food and water if he needs.

Standing above the final switchbacks he'll have a strong tailwind.
Max missed the store in pine all he got was the closing special at That Brewery. Then Mormon lake was closed. He had to bivi and wait until the store opened.

he should be good to go, he’s through the cattle post hole section and it’s mosly trending downhill from there. Trail was in great shape when we came through last Friday. There’s a water cache on the other side of the forest road past the buckskin sign from a hiker that already passed through in March, there’s four huge water jugs there.

Yes he's here eating donuts. He finished at 1:06 from the same phone that timed the start.
