Man, well I'm hoping my bike makes it into the shop in time apparently two day shipping means four! (Sent it out Friday evening end fedex says arrive by end of day Thursday).
Anyone doing a late run to the start from Tucson if my bike doesn't make it in time? My current plan is a one way car rental weds to Thurs then ride to the start Thursday night and camp out.
Man I hate getting to the start of and finish of races, but otherwise I'm overwhelmingly excited!

Oh, I clearly need to look at this on a map again as my mental image was way off. Thanks for clarifying, John!

John, how much longer do you figure that trail section to Gold Canyon takes? I wonder if folks realize that there's not water available between the Gila River and the stores as you near Gold Canyon...that's a fairly long haul even taking the road! And obviously, taking water from anyone at Picketpost wouldn't be fair...
There was water at the windmill by the Hwy exit to the PicketPost trailhead last month. Of course that need some breeze, still you could likely filter a puddle there. If not head over to the Arboretum a couple of miles east. Arboretum's outside water isn't potable inside hours are limited.

Bummer. I believe the convenience store hours are 7a - 8p most nights. They close early on Sunday, but I doubt anyone would be there that day. There's also a cafe next door if you want an actual meal, similar hours - I think they open at 8a.

Is anyone still needing to get back from Picket Post to Parker lake. I usually post this much earlier, but my truck just had its front end replaced and is much better now. If so PM me and we'll get back to you. I also can do Sierra Vista to the border either in the afternoon or evening before, or first thing in the morning on Friday.

The cacti definitely diminishes a lot, but there are still plenty of rocky areas just a bit more spread out.

RE: Inspiration! I was checking the Trackleaders.com roster, to see if anyone else from lowly New Mexico was signed up. I'm the only New Mexican? Pretty cool to zoom out on Scott's world map and see the spread across the US. And someone from Europe, Australia, etc. signed up. Even noticed a Lone Star rider from Corpus Christi. We'll be heading down to Corpus in a couple weeks to chase wind [kiteboard/windsurf]. I clicked the bio for this Tejano and was inspired by Derrick Perrin's survivor story. He's not alone. Probably everyone signed-up has an inspirational story of sorts...

If you're staying near the Travelodge in Sierra Vista and need a ride to the start of the 750, let me know! My dad is driving me from there, and we have one extra space on my hitch rack. I think we're planning to get to the start at about 6:30 am (so, leaving at around 5 am, Friday morning) ... . PM me for my phone number, if you're interested.
See you out there!
Sarah

Is anyone going to the Utah line who could give Maurizio Doro a ride to Las Vegas when he finishes? He is moving fast and will likely be there on Monday.
