Just waiting for a final point from Aaron. Looks like he took at least an hour off the record!! Trying to imagine how hot it must be for Eszter and Pete in the low Gila Country.
Dave Wilson may be in the mix as well. Though carrying a spot he is not on the tracker. He was shooting for sub three.
I'm Incredibly bummed to not be in the fight, but I had no chance of pushing through.

Oh no! Why is Eszter going back to Kelvin? Hopefully just to water up a bit more?

Dave Wilson and I were leap frogging. He is probably behind the two Aarons, I'd put him in the bolders.

Yeah, Aaron! HUGE CONGRATS! That's the impressive effort at least a few of us knew you were capable of if you got luck on your side.

Talked to Aaron at the finish line about an hour ago. He is beat and dehydrated but otherwise in good spirits. He had some bad water in Oracle and that made today's climb out of the Gila hard for him. He didn't know that he had set a new record for the 300. I took some more water to Freeman Cache last night and this morning Eszter rolled up looking fresh (relatively) and determined. Her climb out of the Gila will be a hot one. I walked along the Gila River mid-morning and ran into Pete. He looked strong and should get in by dark. Chip

Just got off the phone with Jason Murrell he had to bail off of Catalina Highway with an achilles issue. Said he enjoyed the suffering but that the HAB was more then he had expected.

Well done, Aaron! I know I'm not the only one that is very happy to see you get some good luck and nail the 300. Enjoy the ice cream!
Time to head to Picketpost.

Rhino and Judd bailed down the highway. Sliced sidewall on Judd's bike. Stitched it up and superglue and tape but since he is an obese gorilla it wouldn't seal. Judd's headset blew up coming into Molino. Safe route down the mountain for Cajun and beers.
Thanks everybody.

just a quick note before i eat and pass out. i am so relieved and grateful to get through this course smoothly.
felt solid and easy to summerhaven, then a bit of a tougher descent down oracle ridge than i would have liked. almost came unglued in the heat and dehydration on saturday afternoon, with bad water causing some vomiting and slowing me down to molasses pace. fortunately some good water and rest at freeman brought it back around. felt strong from the time i got back on the bike last night at midnight all the way to the end. final time: 2 days, 3 hours, 59 mins.
bless my wife for leaving our car complete with icy beverages and day-old pizza for me at picket post. i'll recap when i'm better fed and more awake. in the mean time, good luck to everyone still out there.

Yes very impressive typing displayed there, and a fair bit of bike riding as well.
Congrats to the new record holder maybe they'll let you hang on to it for a while.
To everyone else out there keep plugging away at it.
To those who had to pull the plug keep training there's always next year.

Yep that's it from the 2011 course, not quite the same as this years. Scott just called from PP he was going to go for a short spin up the trail. He called to get an idea of where Eszter was out on the course. We were discussing the change can't be more then an hour or two difference in course change, so a big jump in the women's record should be in the books soon.

Jason - nice meeting you at the camp on the Catalina Highway. I'm the guy that gave you my burrito. This rookie is back home, one bowl of past down and second glass of wine in the works.....the HAB was also our kick in the nads - sending us home. The no longer AZT rookie, Cliff Clermont
