Rich - Bravo dude.  Missed you out there this year on the AZT - Stan and I were only to last to Tucson.  You my friend are NAILS.  Julian "Death March" is a mere bump in the road compared to the bloody AZT.  Brent P., myself and MANY others amazed at your fortitude.  Bravo.

Rich it was great riding out there with ya ,and I hope I get the chance to ride with you more in the future. If it wasn't for you, swami and duck. This rookie would've pulled out sooner. Will call you soon . Hope the rest of your trip is a safe one, Ben

Good effort out there Rich.  Finishing the 300 is huge!  I'd echo others here with the age old bikepacking wisdom of "never scratch without sleeping first."  Whatever your decision, you have a lot to be proud of.

Eric and Forest seem to be heading off route, maybe to get food in Happy Jack?  Wonder what is up.

Yep, restart/reload tomorrow AM start.  Can't wait to get back out on the trail!  Hopefully this time I'll remember to bring my stomach along for the ride.

so glad to hear it man.  I had a chicken salad sandwich at rincon market that left me with diahria and throwing up non stop for six hours to bring my trip to an end.... stay away from those things. actually just stay away from that whole mini fridge at rincon if you want to keep your stomach in tact.
good luck on the ride man and thanks for getting out there and giving us all something to watch and cheer for at work next week.

Eric seems to be sitting at the cafe at Clint's Well Forest seems to be heading out for more food as well.

The Highline will take it out of you for sure.

Looks like Aaron may have missed a turn on the Flag urban system. Hopefully he'll realize sooner then later.

Just got around to listening to Max’s call in from Flag, he mentioned pushing in to Highline in the dark to stay ahead of some lights?  Other than Cjell, anyone know who else might be out there without a Spot?

Scott—best of luck on your ITT!!

Looks like Mark C gets the great timing award for the day.  He is just about to Payson where he will have plenty of meal & re-supply options.  Last year Mark slept just about 1 mile past Payson city limits so he might already have his camp spot picked out.  On the other hand with a full meal (or 2) and some known 2-track coming his way he might push on a bit………

Max may have been seeing Cjell, Scott mentioned him seeing lights but we thought the other two were just too far back.

Hopefully it's just for food the others made it thru there just recently. Max said he took lots of food with him out of Payson planning ahead for the Highline.

Well, I hate to say this but I am scratching from the AZT 750 sad2

Rich, you are my absolute hero!!  I am so amazed at what you have accomplished so far!  No one can say that you didn't give 110% and more to this race!  Completing the 300 was a phenomenal effort, and if the 750 is just not meant to be, then it is not meant to be.    As much as I would have loved to see you continue, it has to be fun and your heart has to be in it, so I applaud that you have dug deep and made this difficult decision.

To everyone else out there, Rich Rocks!  (if you didn't know that already),

And now, we all get to cheer on Shelia!!  Yay, Go Girl!!!

And Scott, best of wishes for tomorrow's part deux....glad there will be more excitement to watch!!

Wonder what's happening with Forest and Eric... they're both still off route by more than a little.

There's some kind of food joint where they are now.  I remember having the same question last year with a racer (Boatman?) and it was explained to me that there's a small cafe of sorts.  Not an ideal re-supply, so they must have needed it bad to justify it.

Mark Caminiti called in from Payson on his birthday! And Sheila Torres-Blank called in from Apache Junction. She finished the 300!
