Well the chat has quieted down...Mark is about to finish and Sheila should be hitting the South Rim today or tomorrow.  Thanks for all the shout outs to Sheila.  I'm leaving today and will meet her at the finish line.  To break Jill's record, she would have to finish the race in 28+ hours...by 3:30pm Friday (AZ time)...rough estimate. Even if she didn't rest, I don't think that's doable.  So, we are looking at a late Saturday or Sunday finish.   I'm looking forward to seeing her.

Go Sheila Go!

Thanks Y'All...Steve Blank

Mark Caminiti called in from the North Rim Country Store! He’s battling some bad winds.

Mark got a flat tire 8 miles from the finish...total bummer!!! I was incorrect about him being 2 miles away?! Good thing I'm not in this thing I can't even determine distance on a map! BangHead

Hell yeah, Mark. Amazing determination. You completely killed it. Blew me the hell away. Bet you were one of the people that passed me, before Kentucky camp as I was in anguish, feeling as if I was just hit by a train. Pretty stoked you made it all the way - didn't have a doubt in my mind.

Here's to a safe passage back to Tucson to pick up the car!

Go Sheila GO!!!

Great to see her head right into the big ditch and not hang out at the rim too long to think about it.  The work's not over but I'm sure she's smelling Utah.

Steve, give her a big hug from Marilyn and I.  Wish we were there with you, Tom

I am back in Tucson at Azttrippers house. Thanx to him and his wife Jeanine for all their hospitality and for the ride back from the finish. I really appreciate it.

Thanks to everyone who made this possible. Leila, Logan, Mom and Dad, Scott M., Tanner, Marshal, Justin S., and many others. I really could feel all your support and positive energy out there. I did really well considering my training was not all that impressive.

The course dealt out some serious pain and tried to defeat me many times. But I am getting very tough at this AZT thing and I had an answer for each dilemma I was faced with.

Next year I will be back again. I cant see not trying for 4.

Good job to all who finished this beast. Max, Blake, Eric and Forest you all did great. I knew Max would be hard to beat after riding with him to the start. And Sheila you are throwing down in the canyon I doubt you will be denied. A great year for AZT 750 racing.

This is my finest moment. Complete satisfaction. I hope any of you thinking of doing this race give it your best shot next year. It is harder than you think, but more meaningful to complete than any other bike race out there. Arizona is the real deal. I am addicted to this place. I will remember this forever

Congrats Mark! We were all pulling for you. Nicely done.

I can't believe you've finished this beast 3 times now. You are a glutton for punishment...and have a much higher pain tolerance than me. Very impressive.

Sheila is ~4 switchbacks from the North Rim! That was a LONG day, but she must feel so good having that chasm behind her...
