Ahhh... walk-a-bike... good times. The best walk-a-bike is usually on pavement... I'm in for the full 750 this year. And I can't wait.
Oh, sweet. Save on GPS purchase. Just follow Scott! I hear he's gonna be in front

Yep, put me down for the 750. Just got home from the GDT in Aus. Now there is an event you guys should fly the other way for! It was a nice little ride. I even got to practice my walk a bike - Yes Scott, on pavement. Good times!

I'm in for the 750. +/-10 days (though the higher priority is to finish). Tim- are you camping art the 750 or 300 start? What's the current wisdom of setting camp Thursday nighta on the border (750 start)?

Good luck out there guys! My 750 plans got crushed this year... I was in a mid air free fall collision my last day of work in the Air Force. I broke my Tibia and Fibula in 10 places and now I'm non weight bearing for 10 weeks. I was so ready to take on the 750 this year. I'm really jealous, but very interested to watch the race from my laid up position on the couch. Good luck Mark, Aaron, and Scott! I hope you crush it!

Plan is to camp right at the border. Its Forest Service land so fully legit. Its a pretty sweet spot and regularly patrolled so I can't see having any problems. Well other then if the Border Patrol wakes us up driving thru in the middle of the night. Then after the 750 riders head out we'll pass them on our way to Parker for the 300 start.

Cheese - I'm in for 300. First timer Newbie. I'm looking for a ride to the start. If I can get a ride, I will fly into Phoenix. I'm down for camping the night before.

Scott or Tim -
Do you anticipate making any changes to currently posted track for the 750 distance?
I'd like to start putting together my waypoints for the 750 this week and just want to make sure I'm working with an accurate track.
Thanks,
Forest
Forest-- This got buried a bit, sorry. The only change for the 750 I know of is what Tim talked about earlier in the 300 -- adding more ST to Hope Camp and a different exit to Old Spanish Trail. I still need to do some route research and roll over the whole of last year's track to make sure it's all good. So, there may still be other things. I hope to get to that next week. Things look good, snow-pack wise. Guessing only the North Kaibab detour will be in play this year, and I'm keeping an outside hope that when I get there it'll look good enough to try it. Scott

Ride/bike your new clown bike the whole way. By the time you get to N. Rim ... what problem?

Right, but riding it to the S. Rim, and getting it across? Big problem!

All... I have arranged a shuttle service to drive myself and several others from the picket post trailhead (end of 300) on Thursday evening apr 18th. We currently have 6 more spots open. If you're interested, send me an email at rhemmele at gmail dot com. Cost will be dependent on how full the van is but should not exceed 60 each.

Also, the guy I've found that will do the shuttle has a van with a specially designed bike trailer; bikes will be nice and safe. Last year, I got in on a shuttle that another rider organized. It cost more and unfortunately we had to load bikes into a cargo trailer which was a little dicey. cheers! ray

Pins, rods and screws. Plus lots of sitting on the couch.

Tough position to be in. You are probably already doing some version of this but I assume you have a schedule of heal followed by rehab? And said schedule should give you an idea of what's reasonable to pick for your next “want to do” bike event? Maybe make that future bike event a firm goal and start working towards it step by step, pick it/plan it/gear & mental prep/etc --concurrent with rehab Guess what I am saying is I suspect you are a goal oriented person—so set your next bike event reward/goal to help pull you fast as reasonable thru the drudgery of rehab etc Best of luck………….

Haha ever since I met you Marshal you have only shared wise things with me. Thanks for your advice. I wish I could heal in time for the CTR, but that may be pushing it. I really want to get up and start moving around and that's the big problem. I'm not allowed to for 10 weeks. I definitely will start planning/prepping for the next big thing. Thanks for the good advice as always Marshal, I've learned so much from you.
