Sorry I meant to add Open Aerial to the list. The buildings are there, once you cut the track and go the distance listed in the water table. You should be able to then read the profile for the distance. That will get you close enough to spot the buildings.

I haven't down loaded the passage from Hike AZ but I bet they have a way point that will be close..

Anyone plan on stocking the Freeman Rd cache with water for the AZTR? I'm contemplating driving out there from the Valley to stock it myself, but if someone lives closer and is heading out there already to fill 'er up, I'd be more than happy to financially contribute to the cause. I'm not sure how motivated I am to make the drive since there is always the option of schlepping ~200 oz. from Oracle to Kelvin (maybe less if temps are reasonable and/or the sun has hit the ground)...

I'm also planning on heading down to Freeman Rd. on the 13th to drop some water. I'm going to loosely organize a group ride on the Boulders segment with a suggested 'h2o donation' by those who tag along.

Hell no I ain't getting one of those pieces of shit!  I broke one of those a week before the Tour Divide last year and it cost me 2000 dollars to buy a new bike and trek didn't honor the warranty until I complained for 2 months strait.  I won't ever buy a carbon frame again.  They are really nice bikes but I need the piece of mind when going for multi day rides.

I am waiting for my Custom Ti frame to be built.

interesting take/experience.  I've owned 5 TREK carbon bikes including a 2011 SF100 - never an issue....and on other items they have always been 100% and prompt in their support of the various products.

Ironically the Ti side I have had 2 Carl Strong frames [one road one HT29er] and a Kent Eriksen Ti 29er....all great bikes.  the irony is that one of the MTB frames [i'd feel bad saying which one] did crack.

Yeah, bottom line is that any bike material can break.  And likely with how hard I ride my bikes it is possible that I could break my Ti frame, but less likely than a carbon frame I think.  Ti is also more resistant to impacts and I think it rides nicer. 

Sounds like you have had pretty good luck with carbon though, whereas I haven't.  I've had 7 frame failures, 5 of them were carbon and 2 were aluminum.  So its time to move on to a new material and see if it holds up
 
My Trek Superfly was broken due to a small stick flying up into my spokes, coming around the wheel and striking my seat stay.  So because it was a crack due to an impact they wouldn't cover it (they eventually did).  My point to them was that they need to make the bike stronger than a small stick, its mountain biking for god sake, sticks get thrown into wheels.

I broke a couple Alu frames too....one Crack-n-fail and one GF.

On a side note - You may know my good friend in Flag, John Sawaski...he's a middle school teacher and "avid" [races elite/pro] MTBer.

I like this approach.  I would hope nobody (in the race) makes a special trip to drop water out there.  But if a group ride is happening anyway, we'll be making a big dent in the cache, so contributing some is a good call.  Just make them available to all (don't label them for a specific racer, or for the AZTR).

As in any year, I personally would not count on there being any there.  I.E. don't arrive there dry.  Especially if you aren't leading the race, no guarantees.

Within the next week I'll be going over the GPX with a fine tooth comb, making any adjustments I see, and adding the new Hope Camp ST.  Stay tuned.
