Alice D is also cruising along well ahead of the women's 750 record.

And Aaron Denberg has been on a mission from the start, acting like he's racing the 300 but in for the full meal deal. Aiming for a record? I'll be watching.

When is Aaron D going to sleep? Looks like he has a about a 15 mile lead on JP, but JP's had some decent sleep time the last two nights. It's going to be exciting to watch these two battle to the boarder.

Yeah, Aaron was battling it out with Kurt on day one -- he's holding nothing back.  It will be an interesting one between JP and him.

Adam Vaughn has scratched in Summerhaven -- stomach shutdown and his sleep setup was not warm enough to wait it out up there.  He had a strong start riding with the peloton.

Looks like Kurt cruised into Picketpost a few minutes ago, way to go man!! Yet another stellar performance on the AZT, simply amazing. Maybe I should grow some helmet wings for next year too....

I see Rich Wolf is enjoying the Redington jeep roads so much he wanted more. Hopefully he gets things sorted out quick.

A good race for 2nd-6th slots on the 300 has developed. Can Neil S. hold of the others?

I'm wondering if he wants to place well in the 300? He is laying it down. Lets not forget how strong he was in the Silverton Whiteout a few months ago. Also wonder how rested JP is, only time will tell, but It would be really awesome for a tight 750.

Bummer. I can not imagine how cold it is up there. Last year I put every layer I had on for the Lemmon Climb.

Can Neil S. hold of the others?

Looks like they are closing the gap, still a long ways....

Congrats to Kurt on another 300 win! He's got this thing down and logged what I think is the 3rd fastest time yet. Tracker has him at 49 hours. Smoking!

Kaitlyn is still roughly 2 hrs off pace and is running out of trail to close that gap. She needs to be at Picketpost by 1010pm tonight to grab the fastest time.  Record or no she is having a heck of a rookie run!

Two more scratches:

Danny Hill had a shock blow on him at Redington.

Jason Hanson has succumbed to the heat and has scratched.

Good efforts on both of their parts!

There's a party at Picketpost right now!!!

Heck yeah!

Looking at the raceflow graph, you can see Darren Smith went for the sprint finish for 2nd.  It sure looks like he at least caught Neil, but as to who actually got second  -- we'll have to wait to hear from them!  It was close!

Likewise I think Joey Ernst may have caught Aaron Denberg right in the last miles.  These guys look to have been racing each other hard.

Denberg did not pause long at Picketpost and is continuing the war path to Utah.  JayP follows as second place 750er, maybe 3-4 hours back and about to wrap up the 300.  Ray looks like a lock to put the rest his 2-DNF streak at the 300, and with a fast time, to boot.  Kaitlyn appears to have lost a little steam knowing the record is now out of reach.  She has much to be happy about for her fast rookie 300 run.

Lots of riders still moving tonight, out in the black hills and out along Oracle Ridge.  After a few days working hard out in the sun, I would hazard a guess that many are trying to take advantage of the cooler temps to make some progress.  It's hard to not have the next day's coming heat on the mind.

There have been some great call-ins this year.  John Fairbairn is still leading in the positive attitude department, despite bringing up the rear -- he's so stoked on life out on the trail!

It's great to see so many folks having a successful ride so far. Aaron is on a mission! It looks like he finally got a little rest of about 3 hours last night. I think he posted the fastest time ever by a 750 rider to picket post.

It's great to see so many folks having a successful ride so far. Aaron is on a mission! It looks like he finally got a little rest of about 3 hours last night. I think he posted the fastest time ever by a 750 rider to picket post.

Almost, but not quite.  Kurt still holds that from 2010, when he ITT'd the 750, taking Jefe's newly christened 300 record in the process, with a time of 2 days, 8 hours and change.  Denberg was mighty close, though.  Both he and JayP are running faster than Jay's time last year, and both are within striking distance of the 750 record!

Kaitlyn takes the women's 300 win, with a time of 2 days, 20 hours and change.  Congrats Kaitlyn -- we'll look forward to hearing the full story!  That's the 3rd fastest women's time ever, matching Kurt's 3rd fastest time on the course this year.

Ray finished his ITT in under 3 days -- a stellar accomplishment and one proving that the third time is the charm.

Addy Marx will be wrapping it up shortly, followed by Alexis -- crushing it and poised to take a huge chunk off her time last year.  Go Alexis!

Finishers so far (most times from trackleaders leaderboard, until I hear of a faster / more accurate one):

Kurt Refsnider - 2:01:02
Neil Stitzer - 2:08:13
Darren Smith - 2:08:21
Hunter Keating - 2:10:51
Joey Ernst - 2:11:17
Aaron Boatman - 2:11:27
Aaron Denberg (750) - 2:13:17
Jay Petervary (750) - 2:15:42
Kaitlyn Boyle - 2:20:41
Ray Hemmele (ITT) - 2:22:16
