News and notes.  All is a go for this September! The start list is currently the biggest it has ever been icon_biggrin
Greg Gleason is doing an ITT starting at 6 o'clock this morning.  I got a feeling he is going to beat the course record.  Follow his tracker https://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?id=10bf4573b664c9ecaa&zoomLevel=9&showAll=yes

Awesome!  I can't make it this year (doing TATR in September) but am definitely shooting for next year if things fall into place.  So I hope to see this race continue for quite a while.

And good luck to Greg!  It looks like he is making nice progress.

Looking at getting the final gpx track posted by Sept 7 and then getting trackleaders fired up. The course will generally remain the same with about 7 small trail reroutes added in.  We had 3 Itt attempts this year with no finishes. Looking forward to the third year!

I had planned on making it this year, but life got in the way. No racing for me this year. I've got this on the list for next year, after azt 300 and dixie 200.

Does anyone know if there are any food stops on or near the track after Hill City? Food and H20 seem pretty accessible up to that point, but i am not seeing anythings past Hill City.

Thanks

Looking at doing this race this year (2018). Looks tough, and beautiful. The Black Hills is one of my favorite places. Question: I've got a Salsa El Mar and Spec Stumpjumper Carbon, both hardtails. Is this doable on a hardtail? Don't want to and can't justify purchasing a FS for just this race.

Sure it can be done on a hardtail.  The record holder Dylan Taylor did it on one.  Last year Bailey Newbrey won it on a single speed. I'm guessing he was dreaming of a full suspension with gears while sleeping in his bivi!  Both of these guys are good long distance riders and travel with minimal gear.  I personal love a full suspension for bikepacking, but if I toughened up a bit I could do it on a hardtail.  Hope to see you and your hardtail in September!
