Enticing -- especially this part, "This is a soggy chamois, brown teeth, hallucination-inducing HAB fest, that will take you through heaven and hell on earth. Loose screws are a prerequisite.  Pussies need not apply."

Shweet, more routes for this part of the country.  Start/finish TBD? - well how 'bout Schat's Bakkery? Could fuel up with 4,000+ calories right from the gun.

Much thanks to Jeremy, Alan and the rest of the gang for putting this together. The eastern sierra has been long overdue for a great bikepacking route like this  thumbsup

A stop at Great Basin Bakery would be good hit too.

best cinnamon rolls on the eastside.

Stop at them both (and Mahogany Smoked Meats) because once you leave Bishop its a long tough push to the next resupply.

Any idea of % singletrack vs dirt road? Looks like a ton of fun.

I'm not involved with this event.  I just passed on the info because I thought there might be some interest here. Unfortunately I don't have any further details about the route that isn't available in the link.

I have done a lot of riding in some of the areas this route will visit.  It's an incredibly beautiful region with a wide variety of terrain.

there is probably 30-40% ST. the remaining in primarily old double track that rides like ST. A bit of gravel grind and the obligatory asphalt transfer sections round out the rest of the tread.

As JRA noted, the terrain is quite varied in all respects, desert to alpine, soft sand to moist firm dirt, volcanic tuff (compressed volcano dust) to white granite, 4K' to 11K+, hot to cold, up and down.
Yeeha!

It looks like they've added a 250 option to the event.

It looks like a great route, I wish I was riding it right now. Hopefully the smoke from the rough fire does not blow northeast.

Here's a link with some live web cams of the area.  The smoke doesn't look that bad at the moment.  It was horrendous when I was up there a few days ago.  The recent rains have helped.
