Congratulations Greg! Way to get-er-done. It must feel good to know that you're the first person to finish the CSTR. I hope you give us a race report soon. I'd love to hear about your adventures out on the trail.
Dave- Great job out there. Sorry to here that you could not continue. I've been lucky enough the two times that I've gone through the rubicon were very late at night. I think everyone is passed out by then. Did the rangers come looking for you on the Barrett OHV trail?
Sean- Thanks again for putting this thing together. Can't wait to get another shot at it!

+1 to Greg for being the first and only CSTR finisher.
And Dave, well done. Sorry about getting knocked out by a mechanical.
I hope to see everyone next year.

Just wanted to post the coordinates for the spring. It's a pretty important water stop, so I hope this helps future racers avoid the panic I went through.
39.03781° N 120.50983° W
And here is what it looks like (see attached). Hard to miss once you know what you are looking for: a pipe sticking out of the hill with water pouring out of it.

Forest, Thanks for the file. Hopefully this will be the first and last time we use this route. Moving the date back to mid July will get rid of any fire dangers and hopefully within the year the Western States Trail will be renovated and usable. As soon as Western States 100 and Tevis announce their dates I'll get the 2014 date up and posted. I'd like to run the race after the run, but before the horses come through, there's usually a few weeks in between the two races.

ROUND TWO! I'm planing on having another go at the CST400. Starting Saturday morning 9/28. may run into a little snow this time around. Looks like clear sky's, warm days and cold nights. I'm signed in on Trackleaders as Blake Bockius ITT.

Ralston reroute. The fire area is closed and thought I should stick to the same route that's on the Tracker. Come join me!

I've given some serious thought on how to get back on the ride this year but the work schedule is booked. Have fun out there Blake, I'll be watching your dot.

Good luck Blake, I wish I was in a position to join you. Meriwhether and I will be doing a nice 350 mile route from Foresthill, out and around Graeagle, Downieville and Nevada City starting on the 7th if your plans change. Be safe, I'll be checking on you often so don't be trying to cheat

nice riding Blake. Looks like he is on track to make his goal. Riding strong and it looks like great temps for Sierra riding.

Saw Blake on Sat. as he passed by my house, he looked good and was excited to be on his journey. I can't tell what's going on today though, looks like he spent the night at a house near Strawberry, a clear violation of the strict self supported racing rules, I hope Toby doesn't see this..... Hopefully it's just a good nights rest and he's not there because something happened.

Had fun out there. Man that's a lot of climbing. Between the AZTR and the CSTR I really have some serious hike-a-bike milage. Can't wait to ride the full route, without detours next year.

Great job Blake! That pace looks alot funner than our sub 3 day pace the first go around. I'm sure it was still very tough, so props to you for being one of two to finish it this year.
Next years route will be harder, even if we can't get all of the Western States open. The one section we really need is now open so that's very promising.
Mid July or mid August 2014 for the next go around!
Unfortunately the Western States run and the Tevis Cup horse race are right after each other next year so we'll have to go in after the horses have gone through, usually there is a few weeks in between and that would have been the ideal time, so likely dates will be August 16th if we go after the horses, or July 21st if we go before the run. All this depends on snow pack of course, but I am leaning towards a July start if at all possible, even if it means a bit of snow to cross up around Freel Peak.
