We've decided to start from Sedona tomorrow after meeting at the Place for the spot.

Sounds like The Place at 7 is still on Friday, then a Sedona start Friday morning.

Where is the best place to park in Sedona?

Skip a night on top of Mingus and camp Friday at Dead Horse?  Route otherwise as usual, ending in Sedona Monday.

This is Caroline...I'm going to start in Sedona tomorrow morning ~ 7am from the Starbucks on 89A (101 N State Route 89A, Sedona).  I will park my car somewhere in the neighborhood around there.  I'll be camping somewhere close to Sedona tonight and will not have internet access so please call my cell 303-819-3329 if a group has already decided on a time and location for a group start.  My goal is to camp onto of Mingus Friday night.

The Colorado posse is now drunk and ready to face mud tomorrow.  We're leaving from Flag whenever we wake up and sticking to plan A.

Is plan A the original Flag start? If so I am interested as I would rather not start in Sedona.

Straight up Mingus from go would be a big bummer!

All of the fun stuff in Sedona right off the bat, Mingus on day one legs,

More power to any one who goes for it in the mud. The stuff on the Mesa can break parts and bikes get really heavy.

The Flagstone 500 becomes S & T 420.

We'll see some of you at the Place.

Best of luck to all.

Barry - Brad Mattingly will have your SPOT at The Place tomorrow morning.  You could also coordinate with him this evening if you want to try to get it early.  Let me know and I can give you his contact info.

Seems like showing up to 'the Place' as planned, then coordinating with whoever is there for delaying or starting in Sedona could make sense.  It sounds like everyone will be kinda doing their own thing, regardless.  It seems to be one of those years.

One things is for sure: bikes will be ridden and fun will be had.  :-)

About every 3 years we seem to get hit with a storm that makes this happen.  So it goes.
Scott,
What do you think if I delay my start until Saturday and ride strait through to Mingus? Then continue to Williams for second stage stop. That way I could ride the entire route and finish Monday as planed.

Still being indecisive. If there are some people delaying the start by a day and leaving from Flagstaff on Saturday morning, riding 4 stages, I'd join.

That's a great plan.  As it says in the rules, stopping at the stage stops is optional.  So, you can still participate in the stage race, starting whenever you want and stopping for any amount of time (including zero) at the stops.  Just keep track of your time(s) into and out of every stage.

Good luck everyone - esp. to the CO crew facing the mud.

Looks like a Saturday AM start for me. I'm planning to ITT it, but happy to start en masse.

3 stages with a Mingus night and a Williams night could be a good option for finishing Monday.

Vandeburgen,
I also will start Saturday morning from Flag. Contact me if you want to start together.
I plan to have breakfast at the place tomorrow morning and then take advantage of an extra day to get my bike and gear ready.

Sent you a PM with contact info - looking forward to nice weather tomorrow!

Hey all-
I'll be starting from I-17 and Schnebly Hill Rd on Saturday morning.  Hoping to get done sometime Sunday evening.  Hope to see some of you out there.  Look for the guy riding the silver SS wearing a white helmet.

Got a text from Yogi Barry, who started at I-17/ADOT.  He reports wheel stopping mud on the road from there to the Schnebly Overlook.  He hiked some and is at stage 1 campsite, where he left one beer.

It looks like Carl F is confused and may have taken the AZT Flagstaff bypass.  That's an early and unfortunate turn to miss.  Hope he gets back on route, heading south.
