Sweet. Hopefully this will work out. I do like both hot springs and beer...
I want to try to be back in Denver by the 13th at the latest, though.

I know this isn't a pre race question Stefan, but I checked out the CTR Trackleader board and Mr. Harris is at the starting line? Looks like an ITT. Night time start to avoid the heat?

Well, if he started last night, he sure isn't moving very fast. Maybe choosing the optimal weather window?

Maybe he's waiting for UPS and his new PowerTap for the CTR rig.

Hey Dave, Are the sealed lips a new high altitude training simulation? Good luck with that. Seriously, enjoy yourself out there!

Don't know if this needs to be said but it won't hurt. 0.75 miles after Gudy's lookout on Segment 28, the final descent into Durango, there's a tree across the trail. Normally it's not a big deal but it's coming out of a left hand bend and the 2' diameter tree is snapped in half with one end at head height...dangerous if riding at night and looking down at the trail. Be careful!

Thanks for the heads up! Or maybe I should say, thanks for the heads down!

Nah, living in crested butte for a month did the trick nicely. Will we see you at the start or are you starting early?? Hope you can start with some sleep in the bank

Yeah, Gotta do the real start, I'll be there with my large belly and tiny hematocrit (bad combo). Sleep monster should be caged though. Look foward to seeing the crew at this one, at least at the start!

I sent out some business cards to Stefan, Folks. The call-in number for MTBCast is on the back. If you want to write it on something else, or better yet get it tattooed on your arm or etched into your top-tube it's 888-866-4491.

Callins. Thanks again to Joe Polk of MTBCast for providing a free call-in number and putting together podcast race coverage. If you are carrying a SPOT, you aren't required to call-in, but it's still nice to hear from you as the race progresses. If you aren't carrying a SPOT, please call in from Copper, Leadville, B.V. and Silverton at a minimum. Or if you have a cellphone, call from wherever you like. Hi All, Bit of a long shot here but I lost (or left in UK) the plastic adaptor that screws to my Etrex Vista HCX to fit it to the bar mount. If anyone has a spare they could bring to the start that would be cool. The REI don't stock it as a separate part. If not no worries!
Look fwd to seeing you in the morning! Cheers, John

I'll be coming to watch the spectacle but not racing this year...you can use my spare mount adapter. I'll be in a blue Honda Element, see you at the start.
