Any update this evening on Steve Lacey? Hope he checks these boards!

Steve!

We here at AMD in Austin are tracking and rootin' for ya!

Dood! Way to hang in all that weather. Impressive.  glasses2
Um, hopefully the ruthlessness stays with the biking, and away from the office?  icon_biggrin

I have been all over this website (NOT DURING WORK, OF COURSE  Wink ), and I had no idea of the scope of this race. I would have loved trying something like this when I used to mountain bike/hike avidly (well, more like hills - it was East Texas - but I still had a cool bike), back in my 20s. You are doing this in your, uh, Not20s! So that just adds to your awesome.

Rock on wit' yo' bad self!  headbang

Sean Allan called in to say after 3 broken derailleur hangers, he’s done.

I grabbed a few minutes of video while riding with Bob B earlier today at Twin Lakes.

Episode CTR10 Day 4 is up! I encourage folks to check in on the summary shows. I'm giving away a Sip Stream, some t-shirts, and other stuff and you can get instructions on how to enter on the show.

GOD!  This race is crazy!  If you ride even 1% harder than MELLOW (whatever your personal 'Mellow" is) it destroys you and your gear.  The wet conditions are making it a lot worse than last year so Im thinkin I'm glad I sat this one out.    Great job to everyone out there....................but........................STAY OUT AND FINISH!  It is SO worth it to pull into Junction Creek knowing that you made it!  Official finisher or not the CTR was the most miserable, amazing, life changing 11 days and 9 hours of my life and if I hadnt of gotten to Durango I wouldnt have ever slept again for second guessing myself.  Whatever it takes, find a pace that works for you and KEEP ON TRUCKIN DUDES AND DUDETTES!  You're HEROES! thumbsup

Steve Lacey update.

Steve rode to the hospital in Salida under his own power this evening.  He picked up some antibiotics for a nasty cough and is holed up in an undisclosed motel in Salida for the night.  He is still planning to finish the race.  Get a good night sleep and dry out a bit!

Yep, I'll echo that.  The summary shows are always fun as Joe gives a rundown on the day, in his inimitable style.  He's the voice of bikepacking racing!  Thanks for all your work on the call-ins, Joe.

Finally a quiet day on the radar.  That feature on the tracker has been getting a workout this year!

I've been watching the San Juan's get pounded every day, wondering how it was going to go when our leaders get there.  Fortunately the timing was good for the looooong miles above tree-line throughout Segments 22 and 23 -- Jarosa Mesa, Coney's and Cataract Ridge.

Here are a couple shots I took last year from 22/23.

Pictured in all of them is my man Dave Harris, currently running 4th.  He seems to have lost a little steam today on the roads, which is a little surprising.  He's got such fitness that I thought he'd put the heels to Jefe today.  But so far Jefe seems to be pulling ahead.

Ethan has made Silverton and will surely finish sometime tomorrow, but Owen's record appears to be safe.

Jesse is very close behind in second.  At this point it's anyone's race.  Should be a good one to follow tomorrow!

Hey, if anyone happens to talk to Aaron Weinsheimer, will you tell him that Kristi Olson is tracking him and rooting for him ALL THE WAY?  I'm an old friend, so it would be great to surprise him.  Thanks!

TopoFusion replay video up to tonight...

Standard disclaimer applies - no evidence anyone is cutting the course, they are just missing points and the software interpolates straight lines between.

Hello All! What an amazing adventure. I'm learning my way around the site still... KUDOS to the person(s) responsible for this network! thumbsup (I'm Nathan Gallion's mom.) We have a cheering section at home, at work, and on Facebook for all of you!! Our prayers are with all the racers. Wishing you a strong finish and not-too-uncomfortable time getting there! You're facing so many challenges, but if you weren't strong and determined you wouldn't already be where you are!! You can do this!!  God's blessings to you all!  Go for it!  <3

Even though I'm not a biker and I don't know anyone in the race, I've been absolutely captivated by this year's CRT.  I check this site several times a day---thank you for creating it!---and cheer for each and every one of these stupendous athlete-adventurers, whether they finish or not. The replay video is fantastic and I love the photos, but the human drama is what keeps me coming back. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Once again Ethan rides on through the night! JJ looks to be getting some  sleepy1 in Silverton - probably some peeps who know where he is holed up - but I would guess Ethan is riding away with it at this point as he approachs Rolling Mountain Pass.
{I am traveling in Asia at the moment...so I get to watch the night owls!} CTR has gone global...

Nathan Gallion called in from Clear Creek Rd. and apparently ran over his Spot so it’s dead. And Emily Brock called in from Buena Vista to say she’s been battling some congestion but she’s moving forward!

So Steve is from Austin?  I didn't know that.  There is a whole Austin crew that is on these boards.  Now we have someone to root for!
Any update this evening on Steve Lacey? Hope he checks these boards!

Ethan and Jesse are 'sleeping in' this morning! Ethan has been camped out for a while now just shy of Rolling Mtn Pass - his first stop over four hours, and Jesse is still in Silverton...Jefe is starting to creep up on them, since he's been riding steady since about 1am. I wonder about DH - his last point was over 11 hours ago...

DH may have engaged his cloaking device.  He's a crafty one like that.
