DH may have engaged his cloaking device.  He's a crafty one like that.

Too funny!

So Steve is from Austin?  I didn't know that.  There is a whole Austin crew that is on these boards.  Now we have someone to root for!

Yep, another Austinite lurking here, go Steve!  Go everybody for that matter...

Scott, the video is awesome - I would like to suggest the Roadrunner/Coyote theme song as background music while watching the Spot Tracker video.  The yakity sax Benny Hill theme song would be a close 2nd choice.

Quick, somebody run up to Rolling Mtn Pass and wake Ethan up!  Embarassing, but I've been talking to my computer this morning telling him to 'get up'!!!!

I find this more engaging than the Velonews onling Tour coverage.

Actually, Steve is from Fort Collins. We work for the same company (but I am in Austin), and he's my boss.

Seems I inadvertently brought out the cheering sections for Ethan and Jesse.  They both rock.  That being said, shall we take it a step further and start laying odds?

Note; I wouldn't want to enter the Octagon with either of these guys.

Here are the pictures that I took during the event:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeffkerkove/sets/72157624535909277/

Post event I am sitting here dealing with swollen feet and nerve damage in my feet and small spots in my hands.  Glad I made the difficult decision to pull out.

When do we sign up for 2011?  headbang

Thanks for the pics, Jeff. That jungle rot looks painful. I'm glad you didn't gross us out with pics of your blisters!

Just saw Steve at the Safeway in Salida, he was waiting for a prescription and stocking up on food. He was in a great mood and feeling much better. He is still planning on finishing and seemed very motivated to get back riding.

Whoever dropped off those PBR's on hwy 24...thank you.  put a few pics up on eszter and I's site- gooneyriders.typepad.com.  really impressed with folks out there, hopefully my knees will allow me to complete the ride next year.

eszter is crushing it.  Tim K's spot is not working, but think he is somewheres close to eszter.

the brit who keeps breaking shit... I very impressed.  he keeps breaking shit, and catching back on. nice work.

Just got a call from my friend Bob Butrico who is a few miles outside BV.  He appears to be suffering from an abdominal bug of some sort (Giardia/Crypto?), with all its pleasant side effects.  He did not have a good night and may have to bail.  Stay tuned.

Having had Giardia myself, I know it's not fun and there is no cure besides medicine and time.  It would be dicey going out onto Sargents and beyond with that type of ailment and surely limit the enjoyment.  I hope its something temporary and Bob can plow forward.

Looks like DH is up and moving again.  His spot wasn't turned off, he had a long bivy by the looks of things. Maybe some time to fix a mechanical?
