I wonder if Andy F. stopped for dinner or had a mechanical. He didn't move on his last spot. 2 hours ago.

You are all incredible athletes and I hope you feel so incredibly proud of yourselves for going the distance, and pushing yourselves through such a rigorous adventure!

I hope you know how much we at home have been rooting you on and cheering for you and talking about you to 'regular' people! You are a true testament to the spirit of the athlete!
Nice job!!
Way to go Racers!
thanks for sharing your fantastic journeys with me and allowing me to be a part of it, if only through the network!

After seeing all these comments, and listening to the MTB casts over the past 9 days, I have the utmost respect for all you riders.  I swear - I was glued to the computer since day 1.  And to see all the support from mothers, girlfriends, spouses, co-workers, friends, family, and fellow riders has been absolutely amazing.  You all are the hardest of the hardcore mountain bikers, and you deserve the highest of accolades.

Prayers go out to the remaining riders on the course.  Finish strong!

Thanks to Stefan and the rest of the crew who put all this together.  Your updates gave us family members some much-appreciated relief when we started to worry.

Congrats to all others who made the journey.

Well said.  I don't know any of the riders, and I'm just a normal human mt biker, and I too have been glued here.  And this whole thing blows me away.  Anyone who thinks the Leadville 100 is a hardcore mt bike race needs to try this one on for size!

Great to hear that Andy finished. We rode together for several days, and he was a solid and motivating companion. He lost his GPS and tent poles along the route, which was a serious psychological blow--but he plugged along anyway. Meeting people like Andy along the way was one of the highlights of the CTR. Nothing so quickly builds real friendship like sharing an intense experience, eh?

Yeah Bob! Nicely done. Finishing the CTR takes unmitigated bull-headed perseverance, and you've demonstrated more than your fair share. Congratulations!

Is it healthy and/or normal to already be planning for next year's effort? I can barely walk, I drooled on my keyboard while trying to stay awake today, and I can barely sit down without grimacing--but I've already started to define an updated training schedule, gear list, etc. I learned so much out there, I can't stop thinking about how much better I'll be able to ride next year!

Absolutely, 100% normal.  Anything else is abnormal in fact.

Can someone who is familiar with the course please check out Ryan Feild's location and let me know if there's a good reason for slow progress in that region?  He's only done about 10 trail miles today, is on Day 5 from Salida and from what I can tell did not stop in Lake City to re-supply.  Is there cause for concern?

He's coasting in to Silverton now as his last point has him already down from Stony Pass, the end of Segment 23.  It's all downhill to Silverton from his latest location and he is probably already in town.  Seg 23 is probably (aside from 10 Mile) the slowest segment of CTR.

No cause for concern at this point, perhaps he will call in with an update from Silverton.

Ok everyone,

Whats up with Ryan Feild? He is in last and running slow, and I mean really slow. Looks like only 10 miles today. He is the last rider and from what I can tell crawling along the trail. Food wise he likely meet apple. Had estimated 3 days to Silverton (its been 5). Water, plenty of rain even if sections have bad or no supplies. Shelter, only carrying a tarp with a sleeping bag. Complained about being cold at night on Georgia Pass. Hummm....

Sounds like their was a glitch? About 10 minutes ago I did not see Ryan anywhere near Silverton. Ok, never mind, WAY TO GO RYAN!
