Trackleaders.com is once again forging the way and will be tracking the 2011 CTR. If you want to rent a SPOT or you have your own and want to be included on the CTR tracking page, please go to Scott's nifty form page here: CTR SPOT Tracker FormI'll attempt to field a few questions here before they are asked. Q: Is a SPOT required for the CTR? A: Nope, but it is highly recommended. However, if you intend on challenging the course record, a SPOT track is the preferred method of verifying your time.Q: I already emailed Stefan about renting/borrowing a SPOT, do I still need to fill out the form? A: Yes, please!!! Saves me lots of work, especially recording people's 911 contact info...Q: Where do I pick up my SPOT? A: If you are starting from Denver on 8/1, I'll be handing them out from the back of my pickup at the start. Otherwise, PM or email Scott to arrange something.Q: Will there still be a call-in #, and when and where should I use it? A: Yep. All riders (ITT and reverse direction included) can use the call-in # at anytime, from any place on the route where you can actually get a phone (pay or mobile) to work.Q: I don't intend to use a SPOT, how do I sign up. A: There is no registration for the CTR, so you can just show up at the start ready to race! An email or PM is appreciated but not required.

I'd like to encourage all the racers to consider sending TrackLeaders some money via the donation button on their website as well. I think we need a donation button for Stefan in there somewhere too.

Just wanted to clarify that if we have our own SPOT device, we are paying $20 to Trackleaders to show up on the main track page?

I had to replace my SPOT and have a new unit number (shared page is still the same). Should I fill the form out again with the new information or can I PM the number to trackleaders?

Just a quick note: for now I've turned off the option to rent a SPOT2. We should have more, but until I get more in my hands (coming back from TD racers) only SPOT1 is available for sign up. We have plenty of SPOT1's to go around and hopefully I can turn the option for SPOT2 back on in about a week.
Thanks for the support, guys.

I signed up and paid for the tracking a few days ago. Is there a current list of 'trackees' so I can confirm it all went through ok? Thanks.

Sorry, can answer that myself - just found the Colorado Trail Race 2011 Live Tracker - I'd mistakenly bookmarked the Colorado Trail General Live Tracker page!

I also am not sure if my form got sent in--bad internet connection lately. I thought that it said I would receive and email but didn't and I didn't get the link of the website for payment. So could you let me know if I should do it again and get the link for $ or pay at the start?
Thanks Jarral

Can anyone tell me approximate battery life for a Spot 1 and a Spot 2? Will a set of batteries get me through 7 days or will I be replacing batteries more frequently?

Hey Jarral- Your form data was recorded. You can pay for CTR Spot rentals here: http://trackleaders.com/pay-CTRor you can bring $$ to the start. Your preference.

Batteries on the Spot 1 will last 7 days no problem. Someone else will have to answer for SPOT II.

Stefan/Scott, I just submitted the rental form. In order to pay, however, it appears I'd have to have a PayPal account... being the intentional Luddite I am when it comes to financial accounts online, is it still okay if I pay you in cash on Monday morning? Thanks!

I think you can pay using the same link and a credit card -- but w/o an account.
But, yes, Stefan has kindly offered to collect cash Monday morning if that works better for you too.
Thanks.
